OT: Helpless Old Man Beaten, Humiliated

So you morons would take 850K over 5 million per year....
Weak shortsighted guys like you and Booch didn’t trust Booch’s ability to last here. He hedged his bets. If he had any self-confidence and loyalty, he’d have realized that had he started winning big here for an extended time he’d be in Sabag territory by now salary wise. He would have been making $7M per year here for the last few years and $5M before that.

Unfortunately, he was a short money loser and jumped at the first chance he had with a **** organization in a league where the shelf life for a HC is about 3 years. Had he stayed here and won, he would have been way ahead of where he wound up from a monetary standpoint.

That's mongoloid retarded. The same POS UM admin that wouldn't pay him > $850k and **** the bed for 16yrs straight, was going to give Butch Saban type money??
Mount this on your Mt Rushmore of moronic delusion

He didn't write this SI article (for those with reading comprehension) https://www.si.com/vault/2001/02/12...d-bolted-for-a-big-money-deal-with-the-browns
More proof UM's admin was super cheap and super short-sighted with respect to Butch's contract negotiations. One of the worst decisions in CFB history. We've paid a heavy price for 15 years as fans for that cheapness. The school has lost countless millions of incremental revenue. This was a prime example of being penny-wise and pound foolish!

You’ve got a steaming pile of Booch’s old man Metamucil **** in your skull. When he quit here, he was one of the best paid HCs in college football despite all of his whining and crying. He was an 8 or 9 win per year coach and got paid like a top 15 guy.

You mongoloids are frozen in 2000 and think the money he was making then was rubbish or that it was the same he’d be making now. We’ve always paid HCs commensurately here, mongoloid. We’ve paid them much higher than the results they’ve delivered. Now, argue that, bozo.

He didnt leave to take the 49ers or Cowboys gig...

He chased the quick pay day and got burned.... he should be a legendary college coach if he kept up his recruiting and winning titles by out talenting other schools like coker did

Behold the last 16yrs of delusional garbage above.

One week later Davis agreed in principle to a five-year, $15.7 million contract with the Browns, bolting Miami nine days before recruits could sign letters of intent. Davis got a deal from Cleveland that Miami could never have matched, but he and his lawyer, Marvin Demoff, insist that the Browns weren't a serious consideration until the school failed in late January to finalize a five-year contract extension that had been in negotiation since November. (After the 2000 season Davis had three years left on aseven-year, $5.9 million contract.) "I'm thrilled with the
opportunity I have in Cleveland," Davis says, "but if Miami had gotten the extension done in November, I'd still be the coach at Miami."
There was friction from the start of those contract talks. Relations between Davis and Miami athletic director Paul Dee had become strained in the previous six months, in part over Davis's concern that at $850,000 a year he was underpaid. "Butch listens to what other coaches tell him they're making, and he believes them," Dee told SI in early November. Shortly after that, Davis hired Demoff. Their first request was for a six-year extension.
Dee refused, offering five. "That was the first red flag," says Davis.

The poor little cvntard snowflakes are STILL butthurt Butch left this shythole admin/school

Them and the admin are the same exact shytpile

Butch was looking to bigger better deal us from the moment he realized he was an NFL commodity.

Everyone from the BOT to Paul Dee to the fans knew that.

The money had been agreed on. He told a BOT on the flight home from the Sugar Bowl he was going to stay. But he didn't sign because of the buyout amount, knowing full well he was going to bolt sooner than later.

Anyone saying anything to the contrary is revising history even more than Butch has over the years.

This is dumb. Mario couldn’t hack it at FIU either and he’s got Oregon winning. If you have a problem with Butch’s age that’s fair but you can’t hold him to a different standard than somebody who did the exact same in Mario.

I’m not in favor of bringing Butch back but the way he’s portrayed on this board is ridiculous. He’s either the best coach to ever walk the sidelines or he’s the worst thing thing to happen to football.

Y’all just gotta be consistent man. And also realize some places you just can’t win at.

Bro imma just keep it real. U dont understand how bad of a football team MTSU is this year. For them to score 50 points their own fans dont believe it. Nobody saying u gotta turn FIU into a natty contender but for ppl on CIS to say that FIU gonna beat miami, of Butch better than richt is just plain stupid. There is no defense of what happened saturday for FIU

He did make a pooe decision by jumping to Browns...

This has been Butch’s worst coaching job yet at FIU.

But I honestly wouldn’t disregard the possibility that he’ll somehow beat Miami.
