OT - Frank Gore article in "that toilet paper publication"

What’s that mean, best pure RB? Dude was one of the best pass catching and pass blocking backs of all time. He did it all, at an elite level, and no matter how badly dinged or hurt. Man is one of the best all around backs and football players of all time, surmounting insurmountable odds. No need for qualifiers. No offense intended to you, just saying.

I don’t remember the game or the year, but I will never forget and will always remember him for one run in particular. The play was designed right, inside the tackle. Basically a toss meant to cut upfield at the TE/RT. It was stuffed as stuffed can be. No where to go. Dude saw the trap, stopped, and turned around, back to the goal line. Play started on opponents 5ish. The entire crowd groaned, especially me. Kid spun, reversed field, and sprinted left to the pylon for a TD. The OB went loud af, especially me. Errybodys looking at each other like holy ****, did we just see that?

This ************ has an “S” on his chest, I’ll swear it to the day I die.

Great interview with a great player from the Grove. He is the type of man and player the Grove can be proud. A true Cane. Wants to compete with the best. He will always be remembered unlike the recent riff raff who turned their backs on the hometown Canes.
 
Not much more to add...meaning there’s a helluva lot more to add, just can’t show more love than has already been shown.

But the Frank Gore moment that lives with me the most was how he declared for the NFL: crying tears that he HAD to leave The U to take care of his disabled Mom and younger siblings. It was hurting him.

means the way he ran with the football was so pure. His movement and vision were so precise and efficient, that his play wasn't limited by his physical ability. He rose above his physical gifts and made it look easy. Like the way Cabrera hits, S. Curry shoots, or Marino throws.
 
I remember when he suddenly switched from Old Miss to UM. A Mississippi fan cam on Grassy and was full of complements about his character. Sad he didn't go there but said we were getting a great man, not just a great back.
 
Elite vision and footwork, but he can do everything you would ask a RB to do and does it well. He may have a learning disability, but on the field, Gore is a savant. He just understands everything that's going on and processes it at an insane speed. Even that Stanford Frankenstein the Colts have at QB has said he relies on Gore to identify what the D is doing. All that he's accomplished post-knee injuries is just amazing, and I'm proud to have him as a representative of our school.
