OT: former 3* kid from STA

For every James white there is a ryan Mayes, terry McCray, Terrance Henley or what have you. These "sleepers" don't work out all the time

Yeah, it's not that they can't work out, it's that they work out far less often than the 4/5* guys do.

James White success in the Super Bowl says more about the Patriots than it does unheralded 3 star recruits from South Florida. Antonio Brown on the other hand...

Well, he did get drafted first. Not like he got a call from his agent while delivering packages for UPS.

Not really... They weren't even the same caliber of prospects as White. White was a 1k back at Wisky. Wisky wanted him from the start. If we didn't offer the players you listed would they had even had fbs offers?

Salt, I think we all generally agree with your point, that if you're down to Plan B skill position players, we're best served by taking them in-state, but it's not like UM has a history of chasing lower-rated OOS RBs.

All that said, two weeks ago Chris Hogan set the world on fire, next year he might not even be on the team. The Pats do that, man. I am not naive enough to think the Super Bowl is just another game, but James White is still a 4th round draft pick who has had a very pedestrian NFL career to date. Don't discount that the GOAT QB was on the other end of those passes. You imagine what Lamar Miller or Duke Johnson would do in a Pats uniform?

IMO, the biggest misses on the field last night might have been Devonta Freeman and Ricardo Allen, two guys Rantard Shammin thought were, "too small."
