OT: Ever been a victim of random stupid vandalism?

Lol. I work with a bunch of guys that grew up on the mainline. They all went to haverford. Apparantly its a huge feeder to the Ivy leagues. They have some really nice towns over their such as Gladwyne.

High school is almost bigger than Haverford College!! Awesome rep.for sending kids to the best colleges

Sometimes a few of them try to go for bad .....Philly style

Couple of years ago they arrested a couple of their students who were running one of the largest drug rings in the area. They always had the best stuff in the area. They are probably big executives somewhere now.

Always loved Gladwyn ......OGH you obviously have great taste!

I had no idea about the size, but I have heard they have that rep for sending kids to top schools.

LOL I am sure. I bet those kids are big execs somewhere lol. Young entrepreneurs.

Beautiful town. That is where a couple of my coworkers grew up so we all went down to philly on weekend and ended up going back to their families houses. I loved the neighborhood. The whole mainline though is gorgeous and so close to Philly. It reminds me of Westchester/Long Island/bergen NJ, but instead of near NYC its near Philly.

My sister lived in Mamaroneck and New Rochelle in the 70s....Beautiful then....

Speaking of Philly, actually surrounding areas, wtf is it with the stupid alcohol ordinances in some of these areas. At least a few years ago, anyway.

A few years back was in a meeting off the main line, went for some dinner, wanted a beer with my sushi, and was told I had to go get it like at a package store or some fūcked up place like that. This wasn’t Philly, but somewhere near like Valley Forge, King of Prussia or around that general area.

Wish I knew .....guessing its Big Brother either trying to protect us from ourselves....having too much fun...or even worse having any fun at all.

I pays to prepare here.

I try to keep my vehicle well stocked as a fully self contained entertainment center

Except in a few isolated cases, violent crime has gone way down over the last 30-35 years. I think the flip side of that is that property crime has gone up, to the point where people will vandalize and/or steal even relatively worthless items. Probably a function of our ever-increasing economic disparity over the same time period.

Baldy… do you live in that nice Philly neighborhood and own a Tire Kingdom??

No, it just made me remember a drunken episode on the Hill in Boulder Colo when I was in school decades back. He said some *** slashed the tires on 20 or so cars all the way down the street.

Well, my Brother and I were hanging out drinking on his front porch in Boulder one summer night at about midnight. And we heard a crash from up the street, which was cluttered with cars parked on both sides as in many college towns. This drunken dumbphuck came rumbling down the street in a beater, an aircraft carrier sized Buick and he literally was zig-zagging side to side, intentionally side-swiping and bashing parked cars on either side of the street. He hit at least 30 cars. His windowns were down, radio blaring, kids hanging out and laughing hysterically. One of the funniest random acts of vandalism I ever saw.

This post reminded me of it, and it made me giggle.

Very nice Philly Area MainLine neighborhood with almost nonexistent crime .....so this was totally unexpected.[QUOTE}

And yes you do live in a beautiful area. I had the pleasure of staying there for business several times and loved it. It is surprising to have these random acts of stupidity affect you. Man, I'm ****ed off and sorry for you and your neighbors. Best of luck going forward my friend.

Also back hundred years ago around 9:30-10:00 PM , I heard this BOOOM BOOOOM almost in sequence , I ran outside and saw a car going side to side down the block smashing garbage cans.
That was my QUE to spring into action , I went around the opposite block and waited in some hedges when they got close I tossed one oth those white elephant **** white painted concrete yard markers like a shot put a PERFECT STRIKE JUST BEAUTIFUL one in a million shot awesome hang time and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM right smack on the hood banging into to windshield.

Brakes screeching horn blowing screaming drunks piled out banging into each other the whole block porch lights coming , I enjoyed the view then took off through neighbors gate back yard , escape plan to perfection.

The next day throwing the football with neighbor he said GOCANES05 you would not believe the turmoil last night COPS arrested these drunks telling the COPS that space junk fell from outer space and hit there car.

OMG NOOOOOO WAY I SAID , yep people LOLOL as COPS took them away....TRUE STORY.

Baldy… if I was you I would definitely stick with the Tire Kingdom ownership... IMO.

@MainLineCane , ever go to the Wayne Music Festival? I believe it's June 8 this year, pretty good lineup. Thinking about hitting Tired Hands first and then swinging by there, love Teresa's as well.

Sorry your 3 ton traffic causing metal box that also causes climate change, kills tens of thousands across 'Merica annually and is a drain on capital budgets across municipalities was hurt and your solution is to quintuple down on the ****** automobile??

You'll have ad infinitum more unpleasant stories about your vehicle.

This morning while taking out the trash, one of my neighbors pointed out that all the cars parked on the street had ALL their tires slashed 20+ cars......including mine:eek:

Very nice Philly Area MainLine neighborhood with almost nonexistent crime .....so this was totally unexpected.

I cannot tell you how angry this has made everyone here. Crime sucks!! Random BS crime sucks even worse....and apparently you cannot move away from it.

But we'll live, and everything is replaceable....worse things have happened to others so this is very small in the scheme of things

Yet it is so frustrating, expecting to use your car, which we only parked on the street TODAY because we have contractors using our driveway to remodel our bathrooms, then not being able to start your day right away as normal.

Luckily we have insurance who responded quickly, and provided us with a rental car.

I wish whoever did this the worst possible luck in the future, and pray that they are caught. No excuse for this B.S....but we'll live and life goes on

Yeah bro, this happened to me. It was in a nice neighborhood too; went to visit my chick real quick and came outsid's and my car along w/ several other cars' windows were busted, nothing stolen. Buuuuuuut, the sweetest revenge was 2 weeks later; late at night, went to my chicks house for a "tune up" and as I was pulling up, saw some kids w/ socks hanging real low to the ground b/c they were stuffed w/ foreign objects and they were creeping and peeping out cars. It was the same punks, and I hopped out on them and beat the brakes off two of them...and when I say kids, I mean late teens early 20's. Felt so good, to the point I just had that euphoria come over me again just sharing this. lol.

Sorry bro, but you're right, that is why you have insurance.
