This morning while taking out the trash, one of my neighbors pointed out that all the cars parked on the street had ALL their tires slashed 20+ cars......including mine:eek:

Very nice Philly Area MainLine neighborhood with almost nonexistent crime .....so this was totally unexpected.

I cannot tell you how angry this has made everyone here. Crime sucks!! Random BS crime sucks even worse....and apparently you cannot move away from it.

But we'll live, and everything is replaceable....worse things have happened to others so this is very small in the scheme of things

Yet it is so frustrating, expecting to use your car, which we only parked on the street TODAY because we have contractors using our driveway to remodel our bathrooms, then not being able to start your day right away as normal.

Luckily we have insurance who responded quickly, and provided us with a rental car.

I wish whoever did this the worst possible luck in the future, and pray that they are caught. No excuse for this B.S....but we'll live and life goes on

Sorry to hear that @MainLineCane. That's a tough way to start out the week. 20+ random cars? That sounds like some type of dumb frat initiation or some type of drunk dare. Either way, I hope they catch whoever is responsible.

My thoughts exactly. If you had a string of break-ins, I'd be concerned about criminal activity but wanton vandalism like this more than likely local teenagers with too much time on their hands. It sucks either way random crap like this happens in even the fanciest neighborhoods.

while this sucks, like you stated you are protected (i.e., good neighborhood, insurance etc.). Imagine being a victim of the same and not havng the financial or resource cushion to absorb something so unexpected like this.

that is what people on the other side of town have to deal with. some dumb **** like this can result in a catastrophic set of events

also I agree, this was no doubt a group of teens with too much time on their hands

Well like they say💩 happens...EVERY DAY....guess it was my turn.

Fortunately we'll be more inconvenienced than affected long term. These kind of BS events ****es you off more than they hurt you.

I do appreciate all the kind words...and yes we do count our blessings and feel fortunate that all is replaceable.

Thanks CIS

I don't have any door bell cameras but what I do have are RAB ( company name) stealth motion sensors (night) with (2) LED equivalent to 175w Metal halide per fixture an each corner of my house and when these babies are tripped it's like the whole area is lit up like high noon , plus my alarm system "Florida Safeguard" I'm in pretty good shape , but like they say a lock only keeps out an honest man.

But those door camera are pretty neat .

This absolutely sucks. People who have no respect for other's property (or for others) deserve to get theirs in a bad way. These people were never taught manners or common courtesy or morals by their parents. Our schools and society certainly won't teach them these things. However, I hope someone teaches them a very, very painful lesson soon. Very soon. You have the right attitude however. It's just material things that can be replaced and you will move on. Sorry to hear about this.

I have never been able to comprehend the vandal or criminal mind. I grew up poor community and I know only a few then would commit criminal acts. There was nothing in life that separated them from me, except personal decisions. As an AA nothing ****es me off more than brothers/sisters complaining about the racist/poor inequities of the justice system. Knowing this why the **** you out there doing illegal *****! Your neighborhood is bad and crime ridden because we are the ones making it that way. There's little or no investment "primarily" because too many drop outs, drug dealing, break ins, robbery, shootings and gang activities etc. Stop serving yourselves up to the unfair system. Dam shame dammed near every house in the inner city of Miami has to have burglar bars to keep safe from all those bad black people. We are our problem then the socioeconomic reasons. I digress.....

If you hadn't mentioned the city and asked me to guess where it happened, I would have guessed Philadelphia. I've been all around the world from Iran to Africa to Mexico, and there is no place ****tier than Philly. I visited one time and literally within 10 min of driving from the airport I saw the some drunk white guy vomit out a car window while driving so that his puke hit the cars behind, then no less than 3 min later I saw 5 black teenagers basically curbstomping another kid on the sidewalk. At least the ****tiness is spread equally among all races. Racial harmony. No joke, kid was laying on the ground and he was getting kicked in the head. I called 911 and told the dispatcher, "I just drove by a street corner and a kid is getting beaten to death." Dispatch said, "Ok." That was the response. I then asked if they wanted the street name, and the dispatch said, "Ummm.. sure. What street."

I f#cking hate that place. I think Bill Burr summarized it well.

One of the best entertainment moments ever. Philly crowd was booing and interrupting every comedian that went up there. Being total asshats, bill said he went up there with no routine. Was just going to rip Philly a new A hole the entire set.

Totally off the top of his head , one of the reasons he’s one of the best I’ve seen.

I wouldn't downplay it as merely "stupid vandalism." Given the cost of most tires, to have destroyed that many is felony destruction of property. That's many thousands of dollars of damage. 20 cars x 4 tires/car x average $100/tire (that's a low average) is $8000 in damage!
