Can go F themselves....What a Despicable F-ing thing to say on this Kids Big Day....I F-ing Hate them more than Poison....Cane Hating Co*ksuckers....They should be embarrassed.....View attachment 115733

you have a great point.

But one thing to understand is what that means. Some people openly say things like that and It’s their identity. For some, it’s far from embarrassing, rather, it’s fuel.

Now, ESPN is still trash for displaying that. And they’re trash for not filtering that out. Just, Tee Higgins might be OK with it.

It was more than one player. It was a clear theme. As we've talked about in the draft thread, it was disgusting. Let us watch some freakin' football. In many cases, death, cancer, or family troubles were discussed or shown before they showed a kid's highlights.

They're playing to the trauma ****-addicted audiences. Drama for everyone. Emotions.

Those of us who follow sports in other countries or have lived elsewhere know that this is a very American phenomenon in sports coverage. Frankly, I'm not sure who they are playing to. I doubt the fans want to see this.

Yall find anything to complain abt. The p*ssification of america. Some of the kids came out and said they gave ESPN the green light to highlight some of these stories. For some of these kids they view it as part of their story. Not everybody grows up with a gold spoon.

The pussification of America is to complain about trying to watch a football telecast focus on football instead of unrelated drama? Cool stuff.

Who gives a f*ck? Mute the sound or turn on the radio. All the sh*t ppl could complain about right now is the format of the NFL draft telecast important?

It was the same thing last year (remember when Jeffrey Simmons from Miss. St got drafted? They went several minutes into his fight debacle). Nothing will change and Trey Wingo will keep leading the cringe train.

Such a hilarious take. You want me to mute the sound or turn my eyes from a TV telecast? Who gives a **** is right, except who gives a **** about the emotions you're apparently obsessed with listening to. This is a football message board. The biggest football event that has happened was the NFL draft. The irony of your post is you're complaining on a football board about people complaining their football experience was ****tier than they wanted.

Can you imagine what did would have said if J. Thomas was drafted 🤦🏾‍♂️
Tbh I never imagined Jeff getting drafted..so this never crossed my mind. Idk what the big deal is on this subject. If the fam was okay with sharing and offering the info then why are other ppl tripping? Maybe just maybe she wants to share her story with others to get in a potential position to help ppl going through the same issues

Ok proceed to b*tchb abt it. What’s your plan are you going to not watch espn? Write them a letter?

I can't speak for others, but the point most of us have made is the direction draft telecasts have gone makes it obnoxious to watch. A family is free to share their story however they wish and, like you said, in ways they think it might be helpful to others. But, making the draft selection telecast trauma-themed (in the past the stories were here and there) is unnecessarily emotional. One example is the highlight of some player whose aunt died of cancer and there was no connection to his football 'story.' Just "hey, this dude had some family members who died." Pretty random and clearly targeting drama seekers. Since we're on a football board, we mentioned it the same way we'd mention the analyst of a Canes game sucked at his job.

My point exactly if the kids wanna share it and they like it then i like it.

My previous plan was simply to mention a football-related experience on a football message board and let it ride. Kinda like we all do when we encounter a ****** football analyst. But, now I plan to start a new website. One to try to mix drama and emotions with football. I take it we can count on your subscription.

I feel you..I usually turn the channel when they start to hit on that stuff. But some super fans in the NFL do like to know the background on their players. Ppl who setup and their own version of a teams draft board and wonder why a kid Ppl have higher up keeps falling like these stories. And these guys are sharing this info with ESPN when it comes to thing that motivate them in their journey. Now some of the legal stuff is on some tmz **** but when a kid like the guy from MISS st falls a year ago, explaining that situations helps understand why that it is..I just don’t understand the making of a thread for this when you can think critically and pretty much come up with the reason yourself...then again I’m guilty of questionable threads that later turned into cis classicS 🤣

Maybe the mom and kid were fine with it or even wanted it to be public. Some people want to show even the worst situations can be overcome.

Same with the kid living in his car.

Hard to bash ESPN without that context.
Yes I understand your point there maybe some other kid maybe going through the same thing Watching the draft and saying “hey if Tee Higgins is going through the same thing I’m going through and can succeed then maybe I can.” But as an African American myself I felt like they were kinda over the top. But lastly as African Americans we are so traumatized about what happened with slavery that when we see ESPN go in-depth on a prospects up bringing in regards to his family struggles with substance abuse and shelter African Americans internalize it as a personal attack against their culture because we all are smart enough to know that not all African Americans families Are homeless and substance abusers. To me some of the family issues about the players should require some parental consent and there is a responsibility to sensitivity by espn That should be considered before airing a families personal laundry on television. It just common sense and poor judgment by ESPN. Unfortunately common sense is all to common.

I can’t wait for Wade’s son daughter to get drafted in the WNBA , that way I can watch a 20 minute tribute to her battle through this difficult time , and how she had the strength to overcome it. It will surely be a powerful moment , I look forward to having a good cry and letting go emotionally.

The only thing worse than covid 19 was the cringe musical interludes from the draft. Nothing screams football like Kelly clarkson singing alone in a room.
