No you have that mentality. I believe black people can go to actual good schools, like Harvard and Stanford. I don't think they need to lower themselves to setting the standard at HBCUs.

A black man that goes to Harvard and makes hundreds of millions a year is going to be able to give back to his community a lot more than, than a guy who goes to an HBCU makes 70 grand a year, but can quote MLK speeches.

You need to do a bit more digging. Shug Jordan worked for Bear, and they tried to recruit - but had problems getting players to come - with Governor Wallace and the school and players. Bear caught a lot of flak for even playing a non-segregated team - and the flak came from boosters, fans, admin members - everyone - but Bear pushed ahead and played them anyway.

When the pool of interested players is not even ankle deep, it's hard to recruit.

Sylvester Croom knew Bryant better than most - and he was there. He played and coached under Bryant - and became the first black coach at Missisppi State.

Of Bryant, he said, "I really don't think it would have been possible for Coach Bryant to have brought black players on the team any earlier than he did. Coach Bryant knew what was going on at the other schools, and he always knew what he was doing - and did it at the right time."

That doesn't sound anything like what you represented - as Bear being racist. Clearly, he wasn't.

That's the the jigga mentality that thinks you have to go to a mostly white school to be successful. I didn't go to an HBCU, but for the record, the top HBCUs produce Rhodes Scholars. Thanks for proving my point Sambo. 👌

Cash over Rhodes Scholars. Who gives af about that little award? I would rather get a high paying job that I can then use to give back to my community.

I would bet anything I donated more money to my hood in Harlem, than you have donated to any cause in your life.

This has nothing to do with white vs black schools.

The highest paying jobs go after Ivy grads, then they go after the elite schools like Duke,Vandy, etc. Then they go after schools like Miami, Florida, etc. The list goes on and on until you reach HBCUs.

I don't care if Harvard was 100% black or the HBCUs were 100%. I am just stating facts that the elite schools end up with the highest paid grads.

To fix the hoods we need money. We don't need Rhodes awards. I would rather make a billion dollars a year after graduating from Harvard and then give that money to inner city schools so I can help young black men go to great schools and become doctors, lawyers, senators, etc. Than go get a Rhodes Scholar award.
