OT: Dabo gets Extension worth $6.5M/year

Why is everything around here a referendum on panic and hand-wringing? Jesucristo, you guys must force yourselves awake in the middle of a *** dream because you don't want to skeet in your drawlz.

So once/if Richt provides us number 6 are we digging in the piggy bank to get his yearly compensation up from $4M/year? Can we afford to pay Richt more?

Dabo Swinney, Clemson Reportedly Agree to 8-Year, $54 Million Contract Extension | Bleacher Report

Please take a deep breath and pray Richt gets his play calling together and can fix our depth issues like Dabo did...

Alternatively, try to look at the additional 2.5 million a year as National Championship appearance, then National Championship title pay.

Maybe a Coastal crown / ACC Championship, then a merit raise....

I did skeet this morning before work chise. This is no more than striking up healthy convo on the program we all love. Thought I came in peace with the OT in the title. You have any thoughts on the matter?

Not worried one bit. This is Richts final destination. And NO The Franchise, I don't force myself awake in the middle of a *** dream. I actually force myself to have MULTIPLES!!! I'll be at the Y at 6am, ready with my singlet.

Money well spent.

With some of these coaches it's more a matter of being paid at the top of their profession, than it is the exact dollar amount. Generally, these guys think football 24/7, and would still coach for a fraction of the pay, before they'd get another job.

Richt strikes me as the sort that, as long as his family is comfortably well off, he won't sweat the small stuff. I'm sure he wouldn't turn down another $2.5 mill, but I can't see him leaving Miami to coach somewhere else, simply because they'd pay more.

Dabo is the man and I will forever be indebted to him for putting the nail in Golden's coffin

Fūck this Alabama hillbilly and Clemson, too.

Anybody that spends board time thanking him is a cuck that takes it up the ašś. Golden was getting fired either way, whether it was him or somebody else beating us or not. That blowout was coming either way.

Pay the $$$ for good assistants, that's where you win titles.

Actually, nowadays, pay the $$$ for an army of 'support' staff. That's where you win titles.

Unfortunately, less than a dozen programs can do that, which is why we've entered the era of the same programs winning titles every year.

How many head coaches fail with a 2 million + budget for coordinators. I wonder just how good he is minus the resources

Plenty of HCs have failed with big budgets for coordinators.

Dabo's OC is a nobody. If your HC isn't a great leader your team will suck. You can't just plug in coordinators.

I don't think Golden was going to be fired until the big money trustees and boosters said "he goes or the money goes." The fans might have had a little to do with it, but fans are always upset about something so they are mostly tuned out. As the saying goes, money talks... Fortunately Golden's car salesman pitch didn't resonate with the BOT. Can you imagine how pathetic we would be if starting year 7 of the Golden era? What an embarrassment.
