I don't really follow women's tennis but congrats to her and her great family. They're all big Canes fans. We gotta get dad to throw up The U maybe after her 10th win or something. Can't steal the spotlight too soon.

Saw the match and she played very well. However, she is on the small side and has no great tennis weapon. She can do very well with guts, guile, and speed, but it won't be easy.

Her opponent, Ostapenko, is a good example of a good player without a dominating game. She won the French Open in 2017, then pretty much tanked her career.

Very good summary. It's not a bad era for her because of the top players we know about, virtually none of them have a great weapon to reply on.

Just the opposite of the prior eras like Evert with the groundstrokes, Navratilova with serve and volley, Graf with serve and forehand, and Williams sisters with the overall power game.

If you're a South Florida sports fan, she's someone to support for sure. If one of our own can be the future of women's tennis, I'm all in.

The UM girl tennis player just won the NC and is going to be a force in Women's tennis in the very near future.
