Edge wasnt Ft Myers...he was Immokalee....What other Canes came out of that area? I know PB, Edge, German, but who else?
HAHAHAHA i know he was Immokalee, but that is still the "area." That whole SW coast...Clewiston, Labelle, Naples, Immokalee, Estero, Bonita, San Carlos, Ft Myers, Lehigh, up tot he Cape. It's all the same to me. We used to play all of those school in Pop Warner. Hated the Imokalee kids cause you never knew how old they were. Also the Clewiston kids were just bad asses.Edge wasnt Ft Myers...he was Immokalee....
Warren Williams UM
German UM
Timmons UM
Kearse UFAG

Sammy Watkins Clemson
Not only did I watch Jammi in HS...But was friends with him at UM....Top 3 HS FB players I've ever seen....#2 Offensively......I used to eat Pizza with Jammi and Yatil Green all the time at Miami's Best....The dude who was the stud when i was growing up, or the few years before i got to HS, was Jammi German. He was smooth and i remember getting his autograph on my Canes Starter jacket when he came back to Visit FM High. Bishop Verot was a good team back then.
As for Kearse i remember seeing him almost bring out backboards down in the Ft Myers gym on a put back slam. I think the rim still might be swaying back and forth. That dude was someone who just made your jaw drop when you saw how athletic he was. Sucks he was a gata
Who was #1 offensively? And please tell me you're going to say a guy who was an option QB that went to your alma materNot only did I watch Jammi in HS...But was friends with him at UM....Top 3 HS FB players I've ever seen....#2 Offensively......I used to eat Pizza with Jammi and Yatil Green all the time at Miami's Best....
Noel lived in Cape Coral...Not far from where I grew up....had a child in HS....Canes were in the running...but his grades were crap...Deion took him under his wing...HAHAHA. Yeah that would've been before his time, but you did quote Noel who i saw as a freshman when i was recruiting the SW coast. I went to Ft Myers for my freshman year then later moved out of the area.
I think Noel had two or three kids by the time he graduated HS if i'm not mistaken. Grades were **** tho for sure, not sure he ever made an impact or stayed in NFL or long, but that kid had the BADDEST freshman year of HS highlight tape anyone has seen i would imagine.Noel lived in Cape Coral...Not far from where I grew up....had a child in HS....Canes were in the running...but his grades were crap...Deion took him under his wing...
Nah Man....Freddie Miles...Not even close...In 1979 Freddie...not Bo Jackson...not Hershall Walker..and not Marcus Dupree, was the #1 RB in the USA.....Don Soldinger who was HC at Southridge then (and had an AA RB Tony Smith) has always said Freddie is the best HS RB he ever saw...The Late Joe Brodsky who coached RBs at UM...Dolphins and the Cowboys when Emmitt was there said "Quote" Miles is the best RB regardless of age I've ever seen.....I myself have personally seenWho was #1 offensively? And please tell me you're going to say a guy who was an option QB that went to your alma mater
I posted about this same exact thing a few pages back. However you kicked butt by taking the time to put all the players and the years plus corresponding time after Butch.F*ck it. This thread is already off the rails and epic so might as well throw this in there again for sh*ts and giggles.

North Carolina had more players drafted during Butch Davis' tenure than in the previous decade. Miami was more consistent. You only have to go back roughly 7 years (1988) to match the same draft total of Davis' tenure.
After Butch Davis' players left, it wouldn’t be until 2017 that North Carolina would have any player taken in the NFL Draft (Mitch Trubisky QB Rd1 - Chicago Bears).
During the same time period Butch Davis was at North Carolina (2006 to 2011), Miami had three fewer players drafted (27) than North Carolina. Only one of them - Kenny Phillips in 2008 - would be a first round pick.
North Carolina had 7 first round picks during the same period.
Canes fans helicoptering into the on campus stadium:Yeah because even if god comes down in the form of a gerbil & magically a stadium appears can you even imagine us1 or the surrounding roads dealing with gameday traffic... that will be the last game I EVER go to unless they let us helicopter in & out
Dont forget that Butch Davis Fired his Defensive coordinator because of that game!!!!Syracuse scored 38 against 2-9 Temple, then a week later scored 66 against Miami. But this dude was talking "defensive football" with Butch six days after it happened.
Love this board.
And Bill Miller was a very close friend...Dont forget that Butch Davis Fired his Defensive coordinator because of that game!!!!
Would Mork do that???
Bring back Butch Now!!!
I didn't forget him...he went to UF so my mind all of a sudden went blank...I lived in Lehigh for 6 years. Very familiar with the area, the H.S. and everything else around there. That's why i asked. You forgot Kearse who was probably in HS the same time you were.
This is so staggering it's ridiculous...F*ck it. This thread is already off the rails and epic so might as well throw this in there again for sh*ts and giggles.
