UF Fans say UF is a Top-3 job. If that's true, everyone but Saban should have been an option.

USC signed a coach that’s been in playoffs what 4-5 times?
LSU signed a coach with 100 wins on his resume.
You “rival” to the south is seeming about to sign a coach with 2 P5 conference titles on his resume.
Solid hire yes, great hire no.
It’s risky hiring G5 coaches.
And if the job is top 3 and UF is paying that “sEC MoNeY BrO” then why settle?

Hold on bro.. You are all about ND hiring a guy who never coached a college football game. Called it a great hire. I questioned you and you tried to argue with me. How much do you think ND is paying Freeman?? I guarantee he is getting more than Napier. Napier has at least proven that he can run a program.

The guy is a great coach. ULL has poor facilities, although they are working hard to upgrade. He won despite having some serious disadvantages programmatically. He built a program that just set a school record for wins in a season. His teams play hard and are fundamentally sound. I suspect he will be successful at UF.

Come at me! I didn't call it a great hire, fwiw, I think I said that I think he will do well there. Which is the same thing to some extent, sure! Freeman is already loved at ND by the players, recruits, fellow staff, admin and fans. There is instant buy-in there. The train is already rolling down the track and he kept his red hot OC that Kelly tried to take to LSU. He was kept for continuity. It's a common path, just like Lincoln Riley at OU and Ryan Day at OSU*.
But even though I think Napier is walking into a snake pit, I actually didn't even criticize the hire (though I think they could have done a lot better), did I? So you are moving the goal posts on me, no?
I am laughing because they paid a Sun Belt coach Ryan Day money. LSU didn't even give him a sniff, there wasn't a lot of competition in the market for him. Sorry, he raked them. This is a thread on how idiotic UF misread the market and panicked. While it's not disclosed, I GUARANTEE you Freeman didn't get anywhere near what UF is overpaying Napier. They were bidding against themselves.
