OT: Brent Venables to OU (no longer rumor)

OU Boards saying done deal. We'll see.
Of course.

We should have been begging this guy to come to UM for the last 3 years, and F*%K off in advance to the "he would never come to Miami" crowd who never consider asking first and offering real $$$ before ****ting their pants and caving.

As a Cane, from where I sit, this would be a great move. Not mad at this at all. It would set back two programs that are ahead of us.

If he does bolt, I would circle back for a check in with Clemson's AD.

dude has been incredibly vocal about not wanting to be a head coach. i don't think he succeeds if this ends up happening.

He would instantly help their defense for sure. Struggled a lot this season.

Good, go do this corny **** in the SEC.

Would be a bad hire IMO, Venables is a lifelong coordinator type.

He’s a Bob Stoops disciple & was there for 12 years before he went to Clemson, but this is basically Oklahoma’s version of going “all Miami bro!”.

The logic is, since they’re going to the SEC that they’ll need a more Defensive minded HC & due to his time at Clemson is a good recruiter in the South.

However, this is a sign that Oklahoma as a program isn’t as highly thought of as imagined, they should be able to land a big time HC, settling for a DC signifies they’re not trying to spend a lot of money & they’re expecting to be a mid-level team in the SEC.

They’re basically trading in the Ferrari for a Ford Fusion sedan.
What I'd give for a Fusion Sedan at Miami.
