I’m seeing a bare minimum of 3 loses for the holes when they play us, a max of 6 losses, with a median of 4 losses. So they’ll be anywhere between a best case of 5-3, a worst case of 2-6, and a likely case 4-4.
They won’t be 7-1.
Sorry. They suck.
Every game is important, and coming off the worst season in 45 years, you could make an argument that any big game is incredibly important for Willie. But it can’t be overstated how gigantic that Boise game is for them. Last year, Boise would have beat the absolute **** out of them. Winning shows progress, and might set the tone for a 9ish win season. Losing, and the noise will be deafening 1 game into the year and probably has them on the fence to make a bowl again.
I’m in this boat as wellI need FSU to win 8 this yr. I need Willie to stay there as long as possible.
I promise you Hard Rock will be empty in the fourth quarter.

I was curious what S&P+ meant and found:

So if this dude is right we will lose to the gator by 10.7 points
They won’t fire him this year pretty much no matter what. His buyout is still way more than they can afford.
I’m not so sure about that. What they can afford and what we can afford is totally different.
They waffled for a month over a buyout of a Houston OL coach. They don't have $18M to pay Willie Taggart to leave.
While obviously id always rather our opponents be ranked when we beat them, i disagree that we need ranked opponents this year. I said this last week, our season has 3 possible paths...It’s very possible (likely?) that every team that Miami plays AFTER the UF game will be unranked when that team plays Miami. There are only 3 teams that have a chance at being ranked at game time: UVA, FSU and Pitt, imo.
UVA’s first 5 games (@Pitt, W&M, FSU, ODU, @IIT)
- though I’m hoping UVA can win their first 5 games, if they lose to the Independent Indiana Team then they probably won’t be ranked going into the Friday night game at Hard Rock.
Pitt’s first 7 games (UVA, OH, @PSU, UCF, DE, @Duke, @Syracuse)
- Huge IF … but Pitt has to be undefeated or only one loss to be ranked when they play Miami based upon what I see on their schedule … I don’t see them getting past PSU, UCF or Syracuse.
FSU’s first 8 games (BSU, ULM, @UVA, Louisville, NCState, @Clemson, @Wake, Syracuse)
- a 7-1 FSU will be ranked when they play Miami. And, they legitimately have a shot at that.
Miami needs to play AND BEAT ranked teams. I’m hoping it will be an undefeated UVA because it sets up the Friday night game perfectly and tests Diaz BEFORE the away Pitt and FSU games. But, if UVA can’t do it, then FSU is the last shot.
