I sat soaking wet in the OB for the frigging gator flop so I understand laughing stock.. After 100 years of Golden, the bar just fell off the hooks. I agree that getting excited about it says all bad about the program. It is the stuff we laughed at others about for many years. We now suck, period and until we find another Howard we will continue to be the reincarnated Sun Tan U. Sad to the point of death for someone actually born on the campus, so while I will continue to enjoy that disgusting moment, I will also take some joy that it wasn't the frigging flop -- more like it would have been if our running back had stopped turned around and ran out the clock without scoring. Still sad but not a complete humiliation. Other than that, I cannot agrue your point about what we have become.

I have no inside to Butch but I do not doubt your words for a second. At Miami Butch sent close to a half dozen assistants to eventual NFL HC jobs. What assistant would turn down a chance to next. Butch at The U is magic on the sideline and on the draft board. Imagine Butch recruiting against Saban, "Hey that Saban guy is one **** of a coach but do you know who's 1st round picks records he is chasing?"

I knew it was literally over after 2012....Oh well....Same as I felt in early 01....As Cokers recruiting was Garbage from 2002-on....I often thought how Great our classes would've been in the same time period with Butch at the helm....

Based on past performance, I'm guessing another dozen or two 1st round picks over 4 or 5 years. Plus, I doubt we see the rise of Urban and Saban to such an extent. Both would get NC or two but not dominant. They would be coaching teams that beat the Canes once in a while like there were back in the day. Still believe Butch was better, maybe best ever, talent and developer than he was field coach but that is plenty.

KW was amazing. Remember how we used to have to stack him with spencer on KORs so that the Kicker wouldn't be able to choose which side to kick to? Also, teams did their damndest to try and punt away from KDub - so much so that they'd risk kicking a shank out of bounds over allowing him to touch the ball. All that said, I enjoyed watching Santana more
