Since I come down here from Richmond to visit my family on Miami Beach in short increments, I don't keep up as much as I'd like to with all the good spots to eat. For several years my go to Cubano Sandwich has been served at Las Olas Cafe on South Beach where this cash only joint charged $5 for their Cubano. I went there today and they did a slight remodel, take credit cards and now charge $10 for the same Cubano. For that price, I figured I'd open my options back up and even travel just to eat the best Cubano in town. Any recommendations???

My personal fave is the Latin American Cafe at the corner of red road and Calle 8. But you gotta get the croqueta preparada

That’s a hard question. A lot it has to do with how fresh the cuts are and that can vary. I love the sandwiches from almost every Cuban bakery especially Vicky bakery. But if you love Cuban food my favorite place is Islas canaries. Way out west not on the beach but worth the ride. Family owned since like forever. Theire breakfasts are amazing and also the best croquetas in town. I work on the beach and deal with a lot of tourist and they’re never disappointed that I told them to go way out there.

Agreed on Islas... even there rabo encendido (oxtail) is like Abuela made it

It's been years since I ate in Latin American Cafe. I love Islas Canarias though it's been years since I've been there as well. Vicky Bakery is one I've never been to or heard of.

I was told to try Enriquetas but I saw that they put croquetas on it. El Exquisito, Palacio de Jugos and Sarussi were other suggestions.

For all you guys still in Miami be thankful you have Cuban food at your fingertips. That's what I miss most about living in dade. I haven't really caught on to the chocolate gravy and sweet tea trend in Tennessee..
