OT: BC vs Clemson

May I remind you what Golden did after his 7-5 2012 season, still dealing w the NCAA? He then pulled in the #14 class which included 5 So Fla recruits, but top 7 National recruits at their position. (Smaller class than 2012).

You know what have to show for that? Bull chit, that’s what.

All that talent wasted b/c coaching & development, and scheme tricked it off. Point being, recruiting is one thing, but development is another. ****, you can buy all the ingredients in the world to make gumbo, but if u don’t put that chit together properly or know what to do w/ the ingredients, that chit will taste like hamster stew (never had it, and neither should u. Lol)

I just need to remind ppl that before we start saying how close this or how close that, and look at this or look at that.....we’ve been down this road. We’ve overhyped before. Just look & watch. I want Manny to succeed, I want to eat the biggest crow dinner & I was willing to last yr....but what u posted, I don’t see, feel, observe, or more importantly witness from this squad. If we come out firing against
NC St, and mind you, statistically, we are a far better team than them in every category; then maybe that light bulb has turned on. Til then, even w/ the 5-1 start, it’s TBD on this staff. (By the way, my Bears were once 5-1 & I told everyone in my circle it was fool’s gold based upon play, and LAR completely exposed that).

Goldens did a good job grabbing what was already there for him. He doesn’t get credit for Duke (he’s Randy’s and he was never leaving his mother) or Tracy. Tracy was Duke’s recruit. Can we blame him for losing Teddy, Burgess and Eli? That guy was in the wrong state. On the Manny front, he’s changed. He’s never going to be a tough coach, but he learned his lesson with the quarterback situation last year, his OC and he’s evolving, I get it. He’s not Jimmy or Butch. He only has to load up and get good assistants. I guess we’ll see. I’m not sold on Manny, but he’s doing the job the right way in recruiting. Fact. I’ll take that over those that don’t and didn’t get it.

I've seen a lot of people hype this recruiting class, but is it really all that? It's not a top 10 class in any of the rankings. It has between 10 and 15 four and five stars total... which is pretty much what Miami does every year, like you said.

Unless we add like 3 five-star offensive linemen and the nation's #1 QB, I don't see how this one class is going to turn us in to Clemson. To me, it looks like it's maintaining the status quo if anything.
 
Funny how Dabo doesn't look like such a genius when he doesn't have Trevor Lawrence.

Football is all about the PLAYERS. Not schemes, not coaches slip sliding or wrecking their office after a loss. PLAYERS.

Who the fck has lisp and slide convinced to commit here? Certainly not a top QB **** as of this recruiting year no one.

Recruiting is THE most important thing a coach can do at the college level. Miami has recruited like a top 15-25 team and guess what... that's what we are on the field.

So yeah... i say if you're criticizing Manny for not recruiting better talent, because you think Miami should be a national title contender, I think that's valid. I'm not gonna disagree.

I just think criticizing the slip sliding is dumb. We lost to Clemson in February, long before we stepped on the field with them.

Manny sucks and anything he does sucks. You aren’t going to change my mind . I can’t wait until he gets fired.
 
It's simple, really.

Dabo Swinney has won 2 National Championships and 6 ACC Championships (five in a row, and more than likely, a sixth this year). Brett Venebles is probably the best defensive coordinator in the country.

Manny Diaz was at the helm of arguably one of the most embarrassing Miami teams in recent history. People that are disappointed in the performance on the field by the Hurricanes over the last three games can point to concrete evidence concerning playcalling and underperforming personnel on both sides of the ball.

Clemson not only is allowed to have a disappointing performance here and there because of their recent winning pedigree, but there's no staff member to get ****ed at because they have a lengthy track record of success.

Regardless of this, you can be disappointed in a performance and happy you won...I don't get why you can't have both - it's a very rational take. But apparently you have to be either "GO TEAM RAH RAH", or "Fire Everyone" all the time around here...

I've been following this team for a long time. We go through this cycle again and again since Butch left....

Coker has a couple bad seasons, fans complain, he gets fired.
We hire Randy. Has a couple bad seasons, fans complain, gets fired.
We hire Golden. Has a couple bad seasons, fans complain, gets fired.
We hire Richt. Has a bad season, fans complain, he retires.
We hire Manny. Has a bad season, fans are complaining...

FIVE coaches in a row, you'd think at some point people would start to understand it is NOT about coaching. It's about players.

Our fans are so ******* unimaginative, they have the SAME COMPLAINTS about every one of those coaches. 1.) "Not fired up enough on the sideline." 2.) "Skeemz." and 3.) "Development."

EVERY. SINGLE. COACH. Same complaints.


Nobody EVER complains about the one thing that actually DOES matter.... RECRUITING. On this entire site, I think ONLY one man actually gets it - Dwinstitles. He's been preaching the truth for years.

It's recruiting.

Yeah he did. He went in there, took an opposing view and needed his own bit of attention so he started this one and this one is about to get merged into the other one - which I started - giving me full credit for all of his views too.
