OT: App State vs. Louisiana

Other than coaching at ULL he has no ties in Lou. High school in Ga and played college in SC
Regardless, he has Southern ties & by all accounts, he’s taking his time to accept the infrastructure a SEC team has that is not a rebuild. LSU has the players, he’s already out there, and they have an infrastructure similar to Bama, slimy.

People in here are falling over to hype up Napier, but continue to slander Mario. You guys realize they are very similar, right? Mario is criticized for his in game coaching/clock management and randomly losing to a nobody. Have you seen Napier coach more than a couple times? His clock management is worse than Mario’s. When Levi Lewis isn’t balling like he was last night, he has no answers. They’ve looked awful all year before the App game. Those close wins against bad teams in G5, would be losses in P5.

Essentially you are hiring guys who can recruit and put together good a good staff around them. Both with questionable game day operations.

So the real question is, would you want a G5 coach who seemingly has all the potential in the world or someone who’s already proven they can win at the P5 level?

That's why I made this thread: https://www.canesinsight.com/threads/vote-potential-coaching-hire-scenario.172312/post-5422890
Yet people seemed to hate the options. Everyone wants their cake and to eat it too. Unrealistic really.

But at this point I think any of the names people have brought up in the various threads would be better than Manny.

Napier was only 31 when he got fired. But I still am not sure why people are claiming his firing was a good thing.
Not saying it’s a good thing that he got fired.. but to get where he is now after being fired is a good thing. Makes you reinvent yourself. Of course that’s not always true though.

Louisiana beat South Alabama by 2, Georgia Southern by 8 and FCS Nichols State by 3 (On top of the 20 point loss to Texas.) The only previous opponent they dominated was Ohio.
