OT: Anyone get denied unemployment in Florida?

I do know when I want something from any organization I start by asking their name, writing it down and be very friendly...my son is the same. Calling back and saying "someone" told me is lame.

You just proved my point. When people abuse the system it must be adjusted. It doesn’t work. What we’re experiencing right now is a result of a manipulated system.

Example. Pelosi is a fossil and shouldn’t be in her position. Totally incompetent. I can’t really even comprehend why she’s still in her position. She’s terrible! Totally atrocious! In my opinion her inability to do her job makes the country weaker because we can’t find a middle ground to balance out Mitch’s approach.

#MoscowMitch is a modern day confederate - eating off of an undereducated RED State (Kentucky) which happens to take much more from the republic than it ever gives. The state lives on socialism - but he’s constantly pushing rhetoric against socialism. And he legislate accordingly.

Behaviors outgrow intentions. Constitution. My view isn’t distorted at all. I have the luxury of living in different continents and can actually see outcomes as they develop. We think we have the greatest system in the world because that’s what propaganda does. But the truth is we are under educated and we are being robbed! And that’s coming from a capitalist. The results speak for themselves.

There’s no reason we should be spending a DIME to prop up the financial markets failures. But we do that often. And people are more programmed to accept that then they are someone accepting their own tax dollars from unemployment. Propaganda.

Again, I am sitting overseas right now and I know the temperature. If our system wasn’t broken why are we experiencing the outcomes that we are experiencing from this pandemic? Health and economy? There’s no need to bury your head in the sand. It just is what it is.

Behaviors manipulate past intentions. Legislation is manipulated all the time. We see that every day. The system is broken. And Florida’s unemployment was designed to be broken.

I heard about one state is over $500 a week. Like I have said, Fl is paradise to live in but **** to work in. Years ago, I knew a couple people who lived here and collected unemployment or Workers Comp from other states. I'm a payday type person and think that is most important thing. Safety net stuff is great to give if we could attach a long residency period to it, like 3 to 5 years. Attracting new residents is not much of a problem for us so we do not need to drain the rest of the country of people, just higher paying jobs.

I think you mentioned that you are retiring. Have you decided where yet?

I'm officially retired last week....Looking to get back to SW Fl....Saw a 2 bed 2 bath Condo in Ft Myers that I love....Only hiccup would be GF...Who still has atleast 7-8yrs in the Medical field before any thought of retirement. So a move would also consist of her relocating and finding employment as well (which wouldn't be to tough. She's a Critical Care Nurse, and they are usually in demand)...

SW FL is nice place to retire. I remember all those west coast beaches before the hordes moved in, sea shells were stacked in layers. My wife loves Naples, but only if it is on the Gulf. Snook fishing in the area you are talking about is super. I like hunter snook because they are like large mouth bass, only bigger and badder. Back 70's I would fly my Aztec over to couple airports that had restaurants for dinner. Funny thing was it was safer to fly than drive over before 75 was expanded beyond two lanes. Lots of old people over there and our medical care seems to always be critical. GF should be fine. Stay safe my friend.

If she wasn't independent contractor then it seems she should be illegible, even 1099 and self employed are "SUPPOSED" to be covered for the $600 a week federal package. If you are not getting help or answers from the agency people, I would write your local state and national congress person.

Like or hate Trump, he is most responsive President I have ever seen, and I've been to White House with two other presidents, so write him -- I mean a letter not email. He likes paper and pays more attention to it. If you get his attention he does get crap done. Write the governor too, and cc Trump. Ditto both senators. FL has influence with President Trump and every frigging voter matters down here. Use that to your advantage. Heck, if you are independent or democrat it will get more attention -- remember Trump is not blue blood Republican and knows whose votes he needs. Actually have your wife write the letters and while she is at it, get one to First Lady too. She comes closer to running Trump than anyone else. Use every little edge you might have. What do you have to lose? Good luck.

It still is the nicest area in the State...hands down...I grew up there...so it's full circle for me....Sarasota Beaches...Ft Myers/Bonita Springs...Sanibel & Captiva are still Insanely Beautiful....

Right on. The US bailed them out in WWII from socialists. **** which translates to National Socialist German Workers' Party. Real simple study of the same culture of German people. Socialist East Germany and West Germany. Which direction were the people running.? From east to west or west to east? We all know which way because socialism does not work and never has. Same pig with different lipstick. Same for Korea. Same people and culture. Which way were they running North or South? That simple and in both countries people were being shot to death trying to get over or under a wall meaning something was really bad.

This notion that socialism = free is a misunderstanding of what socialism is. We have for decades had socialism in America (you didn't think your local police department or those highways were funded by Amazon or Berkshire-Hathaway, did you)?

Also, and this is most important, a socialist structure does not mean you cannot gain wealth. There are plenty of billionaires in socialist countries. For every "Venezuela is a failed state that shows socialism that doesn't work" there's a Haiti, Sudan, or Afghanistan that shows pure capitalism is no better. There's no such thing as a perfect system.

Well stated. In between the capitalism rich move toward socialism because bigger government is the natural state of socialism, fascism, communism and they want to keep all that wealth. 2th Amendment is intended to upset the natural nature of government to become a police state. But We The People are necessary for that to work.

In Alabama, You have to file a PUA document along with income documentation. Then you have to jump thru some hoops and wait another 2-3 weeks. State govt dropped the ball big time on this.
