Offensively AtM with the dual threat Reed running and passing posed more challenges to the Cane defense than OSU’s Sayin led offense. OSU has a more traditional offense loaded with great WR’s and a good running game but an offense imo Miami matches up better with if the DL continue to play at their current level. OSU’s defense will be the best defense we play and we will need a great game from the OL and Beck. Penalties, TO’s, and Special Teams will be a key factor as well.

We have a better matchup against OSU with our DL vs the OL than we did with Texas A&M. That said, Sayin will not play QB the same way MR played it against us. At first blush, MR being a dual threat looked nice for TAMU, but it also gave them false confidence with some of their long developing plays and that played into our dline strength.

Sayin is going to be throwing quick passes. They are going to try to use Louisville game plan.

What will be interesting to me is how we play the wrs at the LOS. Against UL, I seem to remember we played off and they hit a lot of shallow crosses/slants.

Stop it lol. Yes he doesn’t have the dual threat capability but he’s far more accurate and has better receivers and there will be no wind issues.

The only way we have a chance is Beck and our ability hit chunk plays and if we can have a semblance of a run game.

No. OSU’s defense is on another level compared to A&M and their skill position talent on offense helps negate some of their deficiencies as far as OL and QB mobility are concerned.

This will be the best/most talented team Miami has faced since Bama in 2021. But we have the kind of team to play them to the wire.

Ohio State is a good team, but if u look objectively at them, they are getting national title credit as this unstoppable team. Please stop. Their 2 biggest games were at the beginning of the season v Texas at home, 14 points, and last game neutral site v Indiana 10 points.

Statistically Indiana is ranked higher than we are on defense but I feel we have played more physically tougher teams than they have. 10 points is a low spread, yet people acting like we should roll over. They are not unstoppable. They average 429 yards per game, we averaged 414. Similar defenses. Im not sure if dual threat is bad or good because guys who cant run, rely on reading coverage and getting rid of the ball quickly. Thats more effective at times than trying to scramble. We can quite easily win this game.

This is the best team from a talent roster perspective we will possibly face this year - better than UGA, or Indiana/Oregon. Matt Patricia's defense is ridiculous. In fact, they have not allowed more than 17 points in a single game all year.

This is not a game we can win in a shootout, but a game where we have to grind it out Mario-ball style. And if we do win this game, no one left is better.

Ohio State has been playing at a high level for years now we all know this.

We are also Miami and we're going to play freaking tough. Let alone the history of these two matchups.

Are defense will hold them to 20 points or less. The question mark is going to be if our offense can score more than 20 points.

It’s next to impossible to guard their WRs. If we don’t get pressure on Sayin, we’re in trouble. Our secondary can’t hold up for more than a few seconds. That’s not a slight on them — I don’t think any DB group can.

But if we can get pressure and confuse Sayin pre-snap by changing the picture, he might get rattled and make some costly mistakes.

The offense can’t leave points on the board. We will need to score at least 20 to win this game. They will 100% play man coverage most of the time and add an extra hat into the box to slow down our run game. Beck is going to have to make some big-time throws down the field and our WRs are going to have to win their one-on-ones opportunities against probably the best secondary in the country.

I have a lot of faith in Mario getting our guys motivated and ready to go, though. We thrive in the underdog spot. Win or lose, we will prove we belong in this game. I have a good feeling about that.

Louisville and quick passes triggered some PTSD😭

My gut tells me the Canes have a 30-35% chance to win. I think that would work out to a ~4.5 point line.

OSU's defense is really good, and they don't have TAMU's glaring weakness against inside runs. It's going to be tough sledding. However, I think Miami's defense will be the best that OSU has faced thus far. And that posh **** Julian Sayin is due to get his *** kicked.

The difference could come down to non-offensive scores. We were very close to housing two yesterday. Just one could decide the Cotton Bowl.
