It’s simplistic, but hardly the solution, because you’re back to what does the “top-8” mean. Vilma has some good arguments, but it falls short of “top-8”. Some say, best records, or conference champions, but it doesn’t guarantee the “top-8”. (Kirby talked about Saban wouldn’t want to play them again, well it sure didn’t look like he’d want to play LSU again).

It’s imperfect and it will remain that way. My only wish would be to eliminate teams that are not in a conference.

Great point that it will always be imperfect. Personally I always wanted an 8 team playoff with 5 guaranteed spots for the conference champs and 3 at large bids.

1st four in:
Conference champs✔️
Eye test✔️
Top 2 seeds get a bye week✔️

Next four:
Strength of schedule✔️
Eye test✔️
Play a quarter final✔️

For me it’s as simple as that extra 💰💰 and everyone wants it
Would luv to see a UCF/Memphis/Houston or whoever get a chance in a quarter final

I don't mind an 8 team playoff but no way should there be a guarantee for conference winners in my opinion. It allows a greater chance for undeserving teams to be automatically into the playoffs. Think about it like this, if Pitt this past year was able to pull off the upset against Clemson..no way that Pitt team should be in the playoffs but they would be under these rules. And even though I think very highly of Chris Petersen's coaching ability, Washington is probably not a top 8 team this year. 8 best teams should be in but winning a conference shouldn't give you an automatic bid.

I completely agree with your point. The reason I like it is because it is not the 8 most deserving teams, but I think it is the best way to determine the absolute best team in the nation. I think that one of the conf winners or ND is going to be the bet team in the nation. So by including all of them you ensure the best team is getting included.

I agree though that pitt is not the best team even if they beat Clemson, but if they did win and 8 teams were available I would rather see Pitt get in and Clemson getting an at large bid.

I see what you are saying now. I just can't get with Pitt getting in because they lost to a washed Mark Richt coached team by 21 that should automatically disqualify you from everything lol.

LMFAO. I agree with that. I think it should be the power 5 conf winners. 3 at large bids BUT any team that loses to a team corched by Mork should be disqualified and open up room for an additional at large bid.

I hope this guy rips apart Richt again.

Why, do you think Richt gives a **** about a second tier broadcasters opinion? All it's going to do is make the watching experience annoying as ****.

Richt knows what needs to be done, the question is does he do it.

Annoying? You think the truth about this team is annoying? Don’t watch the game or put it on mute if it’s gonna ruin your day.

You are giving Mork way to much credit. I doubt the man knows what needs to be done. He hasn't done what needs to be done for the past 18 years. If he knew the entire time, but refused to do it. That is even worse than being dumb.
