I’ve seen this sentiment posted here lately. Are we even capable of pulling a coach with no ties to UM sways from a program like UCLA, Ole Miss…?
I don't believe so, said awhile back I don't think we can pull any P5 HC that is comfortable/successful where he is. As for Chip would you want him? I'm not sold on him at all

Chip Kelly no, but Lane Kiffin & some others yes.

It boils down to money, if Miami is willing to spend all that money to get Mario outta Oregon, then we could spend less & get an even better option in a more high octane offensive minded coach.

For what it will costs to buyout Mario we could just as easily hire someone like Hugh Freeze & give him plenty for him to build a good staff. Same with Lane, same with Jeff Traylor & others.

The Mario or no one mentality is very narrow minded thinking, there are a lot of good coaches out there, Miami just needs to stop being lazy & retarded & actually take a fckin look around the country for a Coach.

Logically - with no ties to UM like Mario - why would a coach at one of these schools come here? I think a G5 guy wanting a step up or a Herman/Freeze type of situation is more likely to be attainable for us.

Nothing wrong with Herman or Freeze. I think those two and Kiffin are on the same tier.

I agree and I’d love Freeze but I don’t think they’d make the easiest, most sensible choice like that even after Jerry Falwell University cleans him up for us.

If Kiffin would leave Ole Miss that would be something. With buyouts and all this stuff, if they’re not going to look at Freeze, then Herman and the UTSA guy would be good options I’d think.

I will never ever understand the people who want Herman.

Ask any Texas fan how big of a **** that guy is.

Mfer said "Guys, winning is hard" in a post game interview after a loss. Thats the type of **** that manny says and you all crucify him for it. Hes a loser.

Also the entire Texas High school football community couldnt stand the guy. He ruined the relationships of multiple pipeline schools in texas.

Terrible recruiter. back to back losses to ****** maryland teams. Lost to kansas. He is not fit to run a big time program, period.

Texas is a horrible job , too much toxicity and chefs in the kitchen. It’s a lot like Alabama pre saban. The big boosters are running wild and pretty much run the show. They need a dominant personality with a real resume to get them to back off. Way too much politics and drama in that job.
