Preface this with that was still a GREAT win by Oregon and Luigi and in NO way should the clowns on the committee use my hypothetical as some sort of negative against the Ducks if it comes to that but....

....if that game was replayed today does Oregon even keep it within 2 TDs?

That was clearly a Suckeye team that had yet to find its stride and even more important it was a verrry green QB in Stroud that looks completely different now.

If both are playing to their full potential, Oregon would get blown out! This is why I'm apprehensive about MC. Even, if he recruits an all star team to coral gables, come playoff time, we'll be playing against teams just as talented, with better schemes.

Taint is a different animal, but you can't discredit Oregon for beating them earlier in the season.

Remember that time we beat FSU but they got to play Oklahoma for the Natty instead of us?
For sure. Anytime you go INTO Columbus and win then I'm giving you full credit. That's why I don't want the committee playing the "eye test" game that I'm doing now with the result.

I just think that game isn't even close today or if it's a Playoff matchup. That's certainly no justification for giving that potential spot to a 2 loss team though.

I talked about this earlier, Oregon wouldn't beat OSU if they met in the playoffs.

Oregon hasn't looked great since the OSU game. We'll see if they can survive a trap game later tonight.

No one is saying Ohio State should be ranked ahead of Oregon right now since Oregon beat them head to head. However, you don't think Ohio State would beat them handily at this point in the season?

FSU would not have beat Miami later that season.

CFB is a week to week business man. That same OSU team almost lost to Nebraska last week if Martinez could make a forward pass. Also bare in mind that game in the beginning of the year was at OSU and Mario was without his two best defensive players. I believe if the game was played today on a neutral field with a healthy defense for Mario, Oregon still wins. Jmo

I think OSU is the better team but the committee better watch it’s self if they start discounting early season wins. 95% of non conference matchups are during the first few weeks of the season. Why bother playing the games if you’re just going to say one team “hadn’t hit it’s stride” yet? Every regular season game still counts in college football and playing well during the early part of the year should still matter.

OSU SHOULD beat Oregon by a lot, and they should have earlier in the year. They're a much more talented team.

I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt for playing like **** earlier in the year, that's what the committee does and it drives me nuts.

Osu main scheme is to have better players than the other team
They don’t do anything special or game changing
From a schematic stand point
They are well coached, they execute well and have top 3 roster in the country

My concern with Mario is can he recruit at consistent top 10 level here

Oregon is no where near as talented as Ohio St. Oregon is more comparable to Miami than Ohio St talent wise

Easily

It was a huge win early in the season for Oregon. Not taking that away from them. Ohio state would kick the **** out of them if they played today IMO.

I think what’s working against Mario is the conviction on the Committee ( which must exist) that Oregon is a good team that would get viciously exposed by Bama in a head to head playoff matchup. That’s bad for the PAC-12 and for CFB in general.

My suspicion is the the University of Miami Board of Trustees aren’t the only ones cheering on the Utes tonight.

Poor Mario; he means so well, too.
