What does the timing of which hand signal came first have to do with whether someone thinks said hand signal is lame or not? I have no clue which sign was invented first. In my recollection, the U started in the 90's when the band would play the Star Wars Empire anthem when the defense was on the field. The Oregon "O"? I have no idea.
