You can see now the genuine coaches and the programs that care about the process vs those that are entitled and in it for the wrong reasons by the teams opting out of bowl games.
I remember a time when games were meaningful if it decided if you were bowl bound or not. Winning 6 games used to be the barometer. A 6 win team isnt good, but they arent *** awful like the FSUs and UFs of the world either. And that 6th win meant 10-12 extra practices for THE PLAYERS (kids, students!) and coaches, as well as a gift and a trip or whatever the case may be, to the KIDS. Gave them something to play for, to look forward to. A winning season. Bragging rights. Isnt that what cfb is all about?
BOOOOOOO to those schools declining bowls whether it be 10 win crybaby ND or 5 win non fightin norveLLLLLLLLLs... you are doing your students, players, asst coaches, fans, a disservice by shutting it down early. How can you argue you were SNUBBED when you quit early?
You think Mario woulda bowed out of the pop tarts bowl against Vandy? Nah, we go take that L with Emory. Reps matter.
Today, its great... to be... a miami hurricane!
