Opens -21.5 vs WF

Yup.

Draftkings and FanDuel post lookahead lines for select games, usually the Wednesday prior (so tomorrow you’ll see week 4 games go up for some higher-profile or non-Saturday games, normally 10-12). They’ll come down prior to the games played involving respective teams that Saturday, then thrown back up Saturday night or Sunday.

There were “game of the year” lines too from the summer. For example, MGM had the brilliant idea to open Miami @ Clemson a pick ‘em. This was bet up to Miami -7.5 even before week 1…well now…you can imagine it’s going to be at, if not over 2 TDs depending on the next few weeks…

Ole Miss opened -1.5 against LSU, that’s obviously steamed towards the Tigers, etc.

Am I crazy? Didn’t this line go way up to about 24 and then crashed back to 21? Weird
Does weather factor into that type of stuff? Weather updated last night that friday will be washout out, 50% ran right now, still couple days out but was clear forecast yesterday and before..

Everything is factored in, but if the rain becomes more of a sure-fire thing, then you might see the total dip back down a touch.

What happens to volatility and elasticity as lines drift into cuckoo land (3+ score margins)?
Disagree with Donno here, Wake’s RBs averaged 3.8 and 3 ypc against…Purdue. Take away a WR jet sweep that went for 44, and they carried the ball 40 times for 142 yards. The PA roll outs will be an extension of the running game here, and Gio can decide to keep it if he wants.

If they are hellbent running against us 40 times, by all means go for it. They should not have success against our front 7 running the ball, otherwise we have bigger issues.

Ok then that might be reason, it was clear forecast prior to yesterday.. Now showing 50% rain starting around 3-4pm.. Will wait for official word from @joeyhh

Not looking great right now but it's only Tuesday and it could change.

What is Dylan Day's status?

He was out vs. Stanford and FAMU.

With Bryce at CB, depth throughout the secondary is lacking. IT is the first safety off the bench.

Lucas is out until October. OJ and Jaboree are Gone Til November, at least.

When do we see Dylan Day?

I argue that our defense can be run on. Edge contain is not what it was and our LBs have a tendency to take wrong gaps. I think this will be a good test for our OL as well. I think we’ll have communication issues that will lead to negative plays. We probably will still win by 17-20+ but it won’t be as tidy as the prior games imo. If I’m wrong and we win in a route, that would mean our OL play is improving.

I watched the Purdue game.

Wake’s offense will be a pain in the neck the first few possessions as they throw the kitchen sink at us. A ton of motion, misdirection, QB runs, etc… I wouldn’t be shocked if they score 17 in the first half. But I think our defense tightens up after Hetherman gets a bead on what they’re doing.

Defensively, Wake looked active up front, but their back 7 was not impressive at all. Purdue picked them apart. If we keep Mensah clean, he will eviscerate them. I expect them to play a lot of shell coverages to limit explosives, basically the opposite of Stanford’s plan. Middle of the field should be open all day.

I think we cover, although could be a situation where we pull away in the 4th.

More or less what I’m thinking

I know we’re traumatized from past letdowns, but I don’t think this one is going to be particularly close from the jump

/don't bump this if it is
