Miami only has two guys this year: Homer and Bruce. IMO our three best recruits Allison, Mccloud and Byrd all got left out. No Shaq or Richards either. Then we have Amir Rasul who would post up a nice SPARQ and Mullins who may be the best 7on7 wr in the country and both got left out. One of those surprised but not surprised deals. If we flipped our class with FSU the results would've been different.

I would've liked for the kids to get some national recognition and meet other recruits. If we ever get back to winning we won't have this problem

Miami is going to Adidas version Oregon supposedly so I would imagine being the competitors main school would turn nike off slightly from picking alot of Miami's committed recruits more so then the usual Recruiting services bias towards miami due to our small subscription base.

An now with the proliferation of free content sites like this one and Cane Shades Radio podcast those subscriptions numbers are dropping even faster. So Miami will need to win and win big to stay in the media eye.

**** even within the state of Florida there is a lot of anti-Miami media bias. In Central Florida I know the TV sports media go out of their way to deliberately omit UM news during the sports segment of the media broadcast. I remember last year during the WFTV-ABC high school football media days here in Orlando the reporter openly asked 2015 RB Dexter William in a very condescending way he committed to Miami and then said toward the interview we will see where you end up.

Totally agree, I brought this up awhile ago but the Miami camp as a whole received less invites than a lot of the other camps that had lesser skill. Golden just has to win. Mullins not making it, along with others is a joke, he would of blew up even more. Hopefully the staff and players left out use this as motivation.

Yeah our class is severally underrated. even Carlin Files-Aime when he joins us is still a 3 star. but maybe that fuels them even more which i dont mind and when the came to The U. They make them pay.

Don't get the disrespect towards Allison. IMO, he's a top 5 QB!

I agree with Allison being one of the top QBs in the country but he probably is not Top 5. his downside is its inconsistency. his arm is probably better then his accuracy at this moment. he is also a risk taker. which i personally dont mind but for a QB like Trent Dilfer thats probably a big NO.

Byrd not there is a joke, allison should be there, dont get why mullins aint there the guy is a 7 on 7 all star, at this point there is something obviously up unreql

How are these guys not only invited to one All star game but BOTH and not invited to the opening? (speaking esp about Mullins/Allison/Byrd)

But I never considered the Adidas/Nike angle. That actually makes sense. We are basically the cover boy for Adidas now and to have a bunch of UM commits at a Nike camp wouldnt make sense I guess.

He didn't perform well enough at the semi finals to get a elite 11 invite. He had a bad day simple as that.

the Adidas angle makes a lot of sense for the opening. It is a Nike marketing event really. Wonder if ND or and other Adidas schools recruits got ignored too?

Dilfer was all on Winston nuts and said he was a lock for the 1st pick in the draft after his elite 11 performance. So he probably doesn't mind risk taking QBs,

He seems to know good QB play, regardless of how average he was in the NFL

From schools like ND and Michigan there would be MAJOR PUSH BACK BY FANS, so Nike doesn't ignore those kids, because they bring subscriptions from the huge fan bases.

Not only is the bias evident in the media, but walk into any store that sells college merchandise here in central fla. You see fsu, uf, ucf, and usf items. But its rare to find something um related unless you go to one of these stores that specializes in sports memorabilia......

At first, I read this and thought, nah, there's always a good number of like A&M recruits, ND, non-Nike schools. Then I looked at the rosters, and based on the commits (no one undecided) who had the most and if it was close.

Nike schools have 57 commits going to The Opening.
Under Armour has 14.
Adidas has 10 (since we're to be the "face of Adidas", this includes Bruce and Homer)

So I was wrong, Nike schools definitely have more pull (being a Nike camp, no **** sherlock).

But: Nike outfits 44 of the 65 power conference schools for 68%

Adidas outfits 12 of the 65 power conference schools for 18%

Under Armour outfits 8 of the 65 power conference schools for 12%

Russell Athletic outfits 1 of the 65 power conference schools for 2%

In summation, I was wrong, this statement is generally correct, here's to Adidas stepping up their game, and maybe hosting something similar down in South Florida (since their headquarters/campus in Portland sucks).

IMO. Mullins, Richards, Rasul, Shaq, McCloud, Byrd and JoJo definitely are deserving to be there. Unrealistic to say all of them should go but they definitely are qualified enough.

Mullins got dissed for rivals challenge too. He was there the previous year and was one of the best at the event but no re-invite.

Out of anyone, the one who deserves most to be there..... Tyler Byrd who held the #1 sparq score for class of 2016 for state of FL the last time he tested at a nike combine. He got robbed cause he didn't attend a nike combine again this year.

Fils-Aime doesn't get respect from all scouting services due to the fact he missed most of his junior year. Scout and espn rate him 4* and he's still underrated on there. He still is the best back in the state. Freak athlete too. Has a 41" vertical.

Even though Jack had an off day during the semi-final. He still deserved to be at the elite 11 and is one of the elite qbs in the nation. A good chunk of the QB's selected, Jack deserved to be selected over them.

There will always be Anti-Miami Bias. Always been like that.

That's not called bias in regards to what the stores have in stock, it's called carrying what will sell. If there was a demand for Australian Rules Football gear, the retailer would stock it. Simple retail rule, carry what sells as it's they're number one priority to generate sales.

As for the other supposed bias related to our recruits rankings / stars, find me one Fan base in the entire country that doesn't think their recruits are underrated. Every fan base thinks their guys deserve more recognition by and large.

I have not witnessed Anti-Miami bias. We get a player like Bruce, who deserves a 5 star, and what do u know he is a 5 star.

We get someone that is maybe a 3 star kid, and he is ranked a 3 star, and some on here think only reason he is a 3 star is because he chose the U, when he should really be a 5 star. We have about 4 - 6 kids in this class, that maybe the Alabama's, FSU's, UGA really want with a committable offer.

Sad how insecure the fan base has become around here.

Do you really believe there are only 4-6 verbals in this class that the Top 10 want? I would say the reverse, that there are 4-6 they don't want.

Well dforgie, your prediction will be put to the test if we suck this year and Al gets fired and the bottom falls out of this class. It will be an exodus like no other.
