Open letter to UM fan base . . .

Hard to argue with The Franchise, I mean **** his name is the The Franchise. He must be really awesome.

People think it's 2001.
It's not. Kentucky spends more
Money on football than we do --
Btw shalala is the best president we ever had.
Because this is you know a
University,
Not LSU.

Beat FSU and a lot of this noise will go away. Lose 2 games in the remaining schedule? Get him
Out
Of here.

And if we lose all three remaining?

OP, you're in your 40s but you were there cheering on George Mira? Mira's last year was 51 years ago.

Superfan has been unmasked!!!!!

Sorry I meant George Mira Junior, but you know what's funny is that, Mira was so "legendary" at the time that everyone knew of his exploits, like the left-handed pass.
It's kind of like my memories of the Dolphins perfect season, I was too young to appreciate it. If you went to a pizza joint, George Mira's picture was on the wall. His son was a pretty good player and I remember watching him in the 80's. My parents would tell me how Foreman would have awesome runs and fumble at the goal line, and how crazy Ted Hendricks was, great names from the past. When George Mira Junior played for the Canes, that was a reason for my parents to tell me all about him. He's actually a pretty cool guy and had a great career at Miami.

Again, I don't think of myself as a super fan, I was just like any other kid at that time in Miami. Both of my parents graduated from Miami so we went a lot. I miss the Orange Bowl more than you can ever know. It breaks my heart to know that it's gone. Anyways, even if you have only been a fan since this season, you are just as great a fan as I am. We are all equals in my eyes. I still get nervous when they play and can't get to sleep at nights when we have a big game the next day.

Actually, it really makes me happy to see that U guys still enjoy and love the University of Miami. It's a Canes thang right?

I just don't get the anger, of course I scream and yell at the TV and whatever, but I don't trash my team in public. have some respect for the people who are putting their sweat and blood on the line, that is all. Maybe Golden is not good enough? I know he's trying hard to make a difference, but maybe he's just not a good enough coach? I still think it's too early to pull the plug. If/when he fails, he will be replaced. You think I was happy when GT rolled us or when Nebraska embarrassed us on national TV? Still, whether we win or lose, theses guys are busting their tail, they deserve my respect.

On the other hand I thought they waited too long to pull the plug on Randy Shannon. I still didn't make signs and donate money to try and get him fired. WTF is that ****? We voice our displeasure and we move on, no need to be a **** about it. When the brass sees the empty seats, things will change. ( like usual) Still no need to be ******** about it.

Go Canes!

Go Canes!

You actually seem like a somewhat reasonable guy. Mira Jr was awesome too.

I'm curious as to your thoughts about Golden's media blackout during the PSU debacle?

Funny part is that's it's really on a few dozen at the most, they're just the vocal minority. Shout down anyone who disagrees with them, PM pathetic insults, neg'ing etc. it's pretty comical.
The absolute best is they've now told themselves that they had some hand in the recent success because of their discourse.
Delusion at it's best, LMAO.

yeap, most of them have made their appearance on this post... like clock-work can't have any positivity about the team.

We have a shot vs FSU because Steve Morris is no longer the QB. Kaaya, even as a rookie, gives us a better shot.

I've been a fan since "Ottis Anderson" days, when Kelly and Schnelly came around, it changed everything. The fans back then loved the Canes win or lose. ( We lost a lot back in day!) We still loved them and didn't bad mouth the team. True fans went to every home game. I did my part when I was young and supported the crap out of the "U", through the good times and the bad. We never talked **** about our team. We let the the GAYtors and Semi-holes do that for us. Do you guys realize that our rivals are loving all this ****? What recruit wants to come to a place where the fans are so disrespectful?

Do I love Golden? Not really, unless he can make a turn around, he will need to be replaced. Will I "boo" at a game? Possibly. Would I ever say something negative about my team? Never! We win or lose together as a family. Man up and support your team!

Every home game George Mira, Ottis Anderson, Jim Kelly, Vinny T., Jerome Brown, Warren Sapp, etc.. highlight, I was there supporting the team, win or lose. Notre Dame used to kick our ***, but I remember beating Penn State, ( with Kelly) awesome memories. Don't effing feel entitled that we are somehow owed a great team or a great home field advantage. That came with a passionate fan base that really loved their team. Really loved their team.

If your son was failing English in school would you post signs up around the school, telling him what a dumbass he is. The "U" is a family, I'm in my 40's and it kills me to see the fan base so divided. Lets get back to supporting the "U" and getting numbers out to the games. If Golden fails, he will be removed, let it play out, until then, let's band together as a family and support the players and the coaches. They represent the Greatest college football team in modern history, they deserve our respect because they represent our community our people. We are not entitled to anything, lets get some positive energy going, you know who's coming to town in two weeks!

Let's rock that ****ing house and turn that stadium into a University of Miami proving ground. Lets start another home game winning streak, bring your attitude, your fury and your hate for everything Seminole to the game. Bring it! The next banner should read, " It's time to pay for your crimes, ****es (Seminoles)"

A Passionate UM fan ( for life)

I feel the same way 1000000%

Your analogy is off with that kid failing thing. Because no one would post up things around the school saying how dumb the kid is, but you sure as **** would drill the teacher for being inept. At the end of the day that's their job. And if all the students are failing it certainly is the teacher's fault. Unless your kid stands out.

In any case you were telling us about watching all the greats who passed through here. Those days are long gone but don't mean we have to accept bull and being turned into a embarrassment. There is no fan base that's worst than any. Winning brings interest and losing will bring outrage. Any big school has that if they have been to the pinnacle.

And don't tell us everyone cheered for the team when they were losing.....in case you have amnesia, they were closed to shutting the program down. Very well supported I say. That's what some of you want us to go back to. Be happy we are relevant enough to have irrational fans .....still

Got a gif for eating crow? I can't wait to see which picture of Famous Rapist you put on your avatar. F'n troll.

Oh and your butt buddy had a whopping 13.1 QBR yesterday........

Like I said, Ducks is pretty damned crispy these days.

I've been a fan and have attended all of the games since the 1937 season and I am appalled that OP is going to tell me how to root for my team.

I despise what Golden turned the program into, I realize there is a glimmer of hope, but we are punishing the players more with a lot of this. I'm so conflicted because I want change but at the same time I can't root against the Canes. It's F$U in a little under 2 weeks, that's our season right there, I only wish I lived closer so that I could be there.

I agree with the OP.
Times have changed.
I would bet 80% of this forum are under 40 years old and still need mother to wipe them.

Then we now have the internet where anyone can be a big shot. Lots of internet big shots around here.
I have never heard so much bull**** in my life.

I learned early on that decency is not welcome by the majority. So tread lightly with rational stuff. I'm prepared on every post to get attacked by some internet braveheart who would be as quite as a church mouse if it was open forum at a round table. My dos centavos!

Ridiculous. Glad you don't live closer.

We let the the GAYtors and Semi-holes do that for us.

Talks about being >40 years old and above the fray, uses terms like Gaytors and Semi-holes.

OP is trying to build some positive vibes for the team and you post this crap.

Right, because pep-rally speeches on a message board is going to be the determining factor in our ability to beat FSU. Outside of getting a few false starts because of crowd noise, 'fan energy' doesn't do ****. Just ask the Georgia Bulldogs how much the fan energy helped them this past Saturday. And they are a program that wouldn't even think to fire their coach because he is such a good guy.

Very DBC-ish. I always got a laugh out of his "guys this is FSU week, we really need to stop arguing and focus on the game" rants.

Which kids are failing? A lot of players that have come through in the last few years have overachieved (Morris, Hurns, Gaines) or drastically improved (Streeter, Harris). College students aren't exactly kids, maybe your freshmen year but by your 3rd to 5th year you are a man. My professors didn't teach me much in college. I slept in most classes and learned on my own time. People need to be accountable for their own self development. Can you name the players who played under Golden and came out publicly to complain? Here are the the guys I can think of:

Robinson and Telemaque. 2 guys who did **** before Golden got here. 2 guys who were disappointed with their careers and ****ed that they had to share playing time with less talented guys. Bunche and Wheeler complained about playing time, who would either one of these guys start over? Fans ***** about starting guys like Chase Ford, guess what, he wasn't so bad after all.

No but I would understand he was failing and TRY and correct it with a better teachers, tutors or SWITCHING SCHOOLS..aka our recruits..

OP I agree with you..I've been around the program for years since the empty OB days..etc but the arrogance that this man has is sickening.

If your son was failing English in school would you post signs up around the school, telling him what a dumbass he is.

What kind of **** comparison is this? Al Golden is not our son. He is not here to develop his skills. He is paid a salary to win football games in line with what a traditional power house in college football should expect.

**** on outta here with this ****.
