Only Butch Can Bring The U Back

You are right OP, he has done so much the last 18 years. Teams were knocking on his door but he wanted to spend with his family and work for ESPN. Then he wanted a challenge and could have gone anywhere but decided FIU was best. He has as many rings as Mark Richt too :qft9gew:
Not quite that simple. He had the stain of UNC still on him and teams were gun shy. Plus, there's the ageism factor at play which is more common than you think. A guy like Mack Brown for example didn't get any real offers, and he has a NC on his resume, largely bc of his age. Only reason he ended up at UNC is bc of a previous connection.

Tough crowd, bruh. Guy takes over one of the worst teams in CFB, and they're like "he can't even win Conference USA"... in Year 2.

Has to be butch at least as a stop gap. 4 straight bad hires have nearly destroyed the perception of Miami football. What will be left after the 5th

He’s got a body of work that I’m good with. He made the browns a playoff team, he had UNC loaded with talent and getting ready to make noise before the ncaa smacked their pee pees, and he put together a decent team here too.

He’d need a good staff, and he isn’t Dabo or nick, but he has a history of rebuilding programs.

He made the Browns a 9 win team once followed by a 4 win team. He won 8 games at UNC. At FIU he won 9 games in a conference that UAB won after not even having a football team two years ago.

UAB restarted their football team in 2016 and won the conference this year.

Lane also inherited a worst team. Won the conference in year one while winning 11 games

Quit trying to hiring these old and senile *** coaches. Go after someone new and innovative

There are good coaches and bad coaches. Saban and Belichick are pushing 70 and they are at the pinnacle of their professions.

Do you think Saban and Belichick are building their programs at 70 or maintaining? Saban hires a new former HC as analyst every year. He’s not innovating at 70, he’s adding to the empire. Butch meanwhile is at FIU and hasn’t won the conference USA while two younger coaches at worse programs have.

Innovation is overrated. It has it's place, but it is not synonymous with success. There are no new principles to success. And Belichick and Saban know them better than anybody, and they have little to do with age.
