And just an FYI, my niece, 34 act, 2nd in her class of 400+, 15 family members with degrees from UNC, got turned down at UNC. Can I get a list of people to blame, I know you have one handy. Facts are facts, if minorities aren't getting in top schools, the problem is simple, it is a MINORITY problem. A society that focuses on being hood, cool, entertainer, athlete, NOT EDUCATION. START THERE, GODSPEED.

The topic has to do with 25% of D1 football players being 1st in their family to attend college (though another poster linked to info that included all three divisions …).

UNC clearly saw that a level of ignorance existed in your family that university indoctrination could not eradicate. You’re right: your niece should not have punished for YOUR (learned? hereditary?) stupidity.

Show me the poor white family numbers and how they have increased their enrollments in top 100 schools and then and only then you might have some semblance of a freaking point.

No my view is differing of why those numbers are what they are. You guys see them and think oh my how awful, I see it as a positive, that it means the generation before these kids actually broke that chain of a family member never attending college. They were the 1st timers, and quite frankly in 2019, if that isn't the case, then once again, it is a societal problem, not some race based agenda against blacks and hispanics. That is all your blinders allow in your tunnel vision of the world. Utopia.

You created an argument that wasn't even discussed, top 100 isn't 1st time college attendees, you brought an agenda in here, not I. Then don't even get you undercut your own argument, when the data shows Asians take up 4% of those spots. That tells you how competitive it is, or it should. Far different argument altogether. That was my point about my niece. Now I know 100% PHD.

Your view is ”differing” because you won’t accept anything that doesn’t filter through your racist prism. I know I didn’t say anything about “… agenda against blacks and Hispanics”, so why do you continue to lie about it? Why do you keep trying to get off subject. Because you’re exposed.

Anybody with a peon of a brain sees your stats and would make the logical conclusion that whites and asians put more emphasis on education than blacks and hispanics. Sometimes it is that black and white, no pun intended.

25% is not an unusually outlying number, I would think, but having not seen the study or how it defines it's data set, I can't draw any conclusions.

My suspicion is that the number may be higher, but the bigger issue is what's the economic distribution of D-1 football players relative to other data population samples among NCAA sports. I'm willing to bet that football and basketball are both at the bottom, and that certain conferences and schools are more skewed than others.

The other thing that may be suppressing the numbers to the downside are scholarship limitations.

Be interesting to see the models they are using.

They say football and wrestling are 25%. Which is the lowest. Other sports like basketball fall closer to the 13% range.
