Our starting back is averaging almost 11 yards a carry through the first 2 games of a season in which we have an entire new offensive staff and we’ve been told the OL can’t block for 9 months.....and yet there are threads like this. Gotta love it.

No. You’re right on that for sure. Backs are the least of the worries

Louisville filled the box expected a run heavy effort from us.

I don't care if you are 6'4" 350, you're not getting 2 yards when the D knows what's coming. This isn't 1958.

Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer a back that is 220+ with good wheels over a guy that is 185 with just slightly better speed. It's just that in THIS O, where we can pick up yards 100 different ways, we don't need to worry about a giant back that can run through 5 defenders for 2 yards. ****, they don't exist anyway.
