One thing remains the same.

Lol. Now we have morons comparing Manny Diaz to Jimmy Johnson and Dabo Swinney.

Classic.

It’s a rinse & repeat cycle. Go back & see the excuse for Golden. Then Richt. Now Manny. Glutton for punishment, I tell u.

This guy @dycane used excuses of:
1. New coach (ummm, Mack Brown hasnt coached in 5 yrs)

2. New coordinators (pretty sure UNC’s entire staff is new, not just the offense, like Miami).

3. New QB. (Pretty sure Jarren was here last yr, but I know for a fact Sam Howell wasn't there last yr.)

4. New Left Tackle (I chuckled at this one).

He then goes on to say that we open our two toughest games on the road. Since when is a 2-11 team that plays basketball tough?

The excuses that some make is laughable. See these types of post is what makes me forget about the game and turn my full anger towards dumb *** porsters.

The typical "he needs more time" fu*kery. Intelligent fans have been there and done that. We have heard it all before. He sucks. I make this determination on a simple analysis. With this qb as deadly accurate as he is, would Saban or Meyer have lost against UNC with our roster...nope they wouldn't have. In CFB, you either got it or you don't. Elian Gonzalez is not a head coach. He wasn't even Temple's first choice.

We haven't been better than those teams in a decade and a half. That's the problem here.

On average we've been a few points better than those teams. But not enough to mean anything. Our power rating has settled into a range where we are far closer to the 80th team in the country than the 1st team. That's not an exaggeration. Entering today our power rating was 23 points below #1, and only 12 points above #80.

That's the reason I always emphasize the stupidity of strength of schedule. Those conference teams being ridiculed as walkover routs are only 3 to 7 points below us. Details don't matter at all. Everyone who follows coaching changes and returning starters and strategic shifts is fixated on trivial crap as opposed to big picture realities that dictate outcomes.

Name any of our coaches who did anything their first year besides Coker

I’ll wait

**** man
We lost to a team we beat last year by a lot that was coming out of a 2 win season with a freshman qb and a new coach
It is unacceptable

I'm suggesting that people don't jump off a ledge.

Those players played four quarters and never gave up. The game literally came down to a couple of plays. Semi-decent kicker, we win. Bandy doesn't get beat like a drum, rarely happens, we win.

The season is far from over, but teams don't go from our record last year to one or two losses in their first season with a first time head coach. You want to see improvement. We've seen improvement, just not enough to pull these two wins out.
You've seen improvement???....Lol...Where??
I haven't seen improvement whatsoever...

I hope lance roffers does a breakdown on mike pink and shaq on how many times tjey got caught in the wash or the bad angles they took when the rb beat them to the edge

Pink had a couple nice TFL’s. I don’t believe I saw Shaq make a play all night.

Just because he's a first year coach does not mean we are "crawling out of the dumpster". This is not a rebuilding year. We don't have the talent to be contenders, but we have enough to beat both of the teams we've lost to so far, and enough to win the ACC Coastal. If you've been following Miami football for the last 15 years then you should be able to spot ****** coaching when you see it.

But when Manny is fired in 2021, we will have a full blown rebuilding project on our hands, because when you're an inexperienced, unproven HC and you're getting your *** kicked in year one, you're not going to be signing anyone.

The stuff we've seen on the field the last few weeks is a full blown disaster. You people are full of ******* ****.

Repost this everywhere

There's a lot of posters here who overreact to things.

In case you forgot, we are attempting to crawl out of the dumpster. We owned this game. Time of possessions, killed it. Overall possessions, killed it.

We made some bad plays that really, really hurt. FG's and the extra point, no explanation needed. Bandy getting absolutely wrecked on the the long TD for them. He's a good player, nowhere near top 5 in the country some were selling earlier in the week, but by far the best we've got. Those issues really stand out to me.

We're thin and young all over the place. These young cats know nothing but losses, so in a tight game, they've gotta learn how to pull it out. It wasn't going to be fixed overnight.

Football isn't played in a vacuum. UNC got their tight win last week. Mack, people used to talk all kinds of **** about him, but he's a competent coach for sure. Their QB, I prefer ours, showed a lot of moxie. He put the ball on the money enough when it mattered. Their go ahead TD, good pass, phenomenal catch that doesn't happen most times.

Sucks, but those proclaiming Diaz is the Cuban Al Golden are foolish. Is he the guy to get us number six? The odds are against him, but is that even our goal anymore by the administration? Hopeful they may be, but he didn't have the resume to suggest that's their expectations deep down.

We all want a return to glory. It could still happen, but this was never going to be the year. Fan expectations are always off kilter. We fielded a viable team, have a QB finally, but the horses we've gotta get better there. Our senior LB'ers are average. DT, thin as **** depth. Corners, young and may develop, but not there yet and we've missed a lot. OL, showed improvement, going to leave it at that. WR, Smurf ball with big guys who are largely unreliable. RB, tough and gritty, but lack of homerun speed that many others would've housed on the longer runs.

So step back, think, and understand who we've been. You do that, you're not freaking out over this.

Edit: Diaz is learning as well. Assistants, this is a step up for most of them. Quality of opponent wasn't what it was last game, then again those venting were quick to label UF a 4 to 5 loss team come seasons end. This vame and that one, both could've gone our way. I hated the Shannon hire, didn't like Golden, and I thought Diaz was lazy. They put work in, got JW time with a bad OL, and improved there. They can all improve, it isn't all negative. I never felt that way with the last 3.

Actually it was unc in the dumpster last year, and they just beat us with a brand new staff and true freshman qb...and we need recruits to get better and build depth, and being an average team isnt going to get them

I heard this in 2008, 2011, 2016..etc

Understand the fans too
You are right. We have heard this over and over. We do have Jarren though and that is a big difference. They have to improve over the season because they are **** right now. If there isn’t improvement over the season then we have a major problem.

Hate to have blind faith here, but I do. I refuse to believe we don’t improve throughout the year. We will be a different team by the end of the season. If not, Manny has to go.

There is no way we can lose that game on paper. Everything was in our favor...except the score. Just like the first game.

Context is key. And the context is that we make backbreaking mistakes at exactly the wrong time. 4-5 terrible plays will lose you a game. And we make those loser plays without fail.
