There's a lot of posters here who overreact to things.

In case you forgot, we are attempting to crawl out of the dumpster. We owned this game. Time of possessions, killed it. Overall possessions, killed it.

We made some bad plays that really, really hurt. FG's and the extra point, no explanation needed. Bandy getting absolutely wrecked on the the long TD for them. He's a good player, nowhere near top 5 in the country some were selling earlier in the week, but by far the best we've got. Those issues really stand out to me.

We're thin and young all over the place. These young cats know nothing but losses, so in a tight game, they've gotta learn how to pull it out. It wasn't going to be fixed overnight.

Football isn't played in a vacuum. UNC got their tight win last week. Mack, people used to talk all kinds of **** about him, but he's a competent coach for sure. Their QB, I prefer ours, showed a lot of moxie. He put the ball on the money enough when it mattered. Their go ahead TD, good pass, phenomenal catch that doesn't happen most times.

Sucks, but those proclaiming Diaz is the Cuban Al Golden are foolish. Is he the guy to get us number six? The odds are against him, but is that even our goal anymore by the administration? Hopeful they may be, but he didn't have the resume to suggest that's their expectations deep down.

We all want a return to glory. It could still happen, but this was never going to be the year. Fan expectations are always off kilter. We fielded a viable team, have a QB finally, but the horses we've gotta get better there. Our senior LB'ers are average. DT, thin as **** depth. Corners, young and may develop, but not there yet and we've missed a lot. OL, showed improvement, going to leave it at that. WR, Smurf ball with big guys who are largely unreliable. RB, tough and gritty, but lack of homerun speed that many others would've housed on the longer runs.

So step back, think, and understand who we've been. You do that, you're not freaking out over this.

Edit: Diaz is learning as well. Assistants, this is a step up for most of them. Quality of opponent wasn't what it was last game, then again those venting were quick to label UF a 4 to 5 loss team come seasons end. This vame and that one, both could've gone our way. I hated the Shannon hire, didn't like Golden, and I thought Diaz was lazy. They put work in, got JW time with a bad OL, and improved there. They can all improve, it isn't all negative. I never felt that way with the last 3.

It gets old losing to teams like UNC, Virginia, Duke, Ga Tech. Those games shouldn’t be close Miami should win those by 2 tds at least but instead they play like the **** program they’ve been for years and lose to those teams.

Except that we see no recruiting class in the horizon that will fix the talent issues that you just highlighted.

And that’s on the coach as well

Bro, the we are young schtick is as old as Moses...so is half the other teams in the country. The difference is coaching...I can see that now

yeah, am off the wagon.
jw is good, defense sucks.
we are still not a good team.
every p5 game is a tossup for us still

We haven't been better than those teams in a decade and a half. That's the problem here. They've had a better go of it in that time. We don't lower our expectations as fans, but in the same breath, you've gotta realize that becoming great again isn't an overnight process. Saying we're Miami, these games shouldn't be close, we've no reason to say that anymore. We aren't old Miami, nobody fears us, respects us, but we can get back there.

Just because he's a first year coach does not mean we are "crawling out of the dumpster". This is not a rebuilding year. We don't have the talent to be contenders, but we have enough to beat both of the teams we've lost to so far, and enough to win the ACC Coastal. If you've been following Miami football for the last 15 years then you should be able to spot ****** coaching when you see it.

But when Manny is fired in 2021, we will have a full blown rebuilding project on our hands, because when you're an inexperienced, unproven HC and you're getting your *** kicked in year one, you're not going to be signing anyone.

The stuff we've seen on the field the last few weeks is a full blown disaster. You people are full of ******* ****.

So what in the ***** name are you suggesting? We accept being mediocre?

I completely agree with you. Then again, it's more about evaluation, development, and implementation in games like this. Again, it isn't overnight, but start building up with what you've got to win these types of games and you'll elevate your recruiting game.

Idk if you watched tonight’s game but this loss was unacceptable. For me the loss to UF was as well, but most can chalk it up to age and Jarren being a fresh along with our tackles but tonight no shot. We should never lose to Carolina. If you want to turn this program around you gotta get rid of the loser mentality. That means accepting losses

That’s exactly what half the people on here are saying. “New staff, blah blah blah.” Even though we are more talented than everybody we play we should accept that losing to them is gonna happen. That’s why we are in the same spot we were 15 years ago. It’s a losers mentality
