You took the criticism, kept posting and it has made you a better writer and thinker. It takes some courage to be an OP so I appreciate you taking the heat and keeping the conversation going. Everyone should be allowed to grow and change. It's still a Canes Thing.
The long passes on 3rd down aren't really on him...
On 3rd down & 5 early in the game when Kaaya threw that deep ball to Coley (who was being PI'd), Joku was actually wide open underneath on a crossing route... He even used the ref in the middle of the field to slip his defender & had plenty of running room.
Kaaya just plain didn't see him, he determined before the snap he was just going to launch it to Coley, luckily we got bailed out by an illegal hands to the face penalty. But that wasn't on Richt's play call, that was on Kaaya's decision making.
Same thing with that 3rd & short where he overthrew Joku in the end zone by 60 yards, he had open underneath routes that he just decided not to throw to.
There was also a 3rd & 2 in the game where he could've literally power walked his way to a 1st down, but he just couldn't process quick enough & got sacked.
For the most part Richt is following his MO - he's beat the teams he should (except ND), and has under-performed in the bigger games.
Yep. Except he hasn't beaten all the teams he should have. ND wasn't the only one.
Win out and get me to 9-4. This dude will get us 9 or 10 wins just about every year.
My question is can Richt get UM to 12-15 wins?( because thats basically what you need to be in the running for the national title- if UM still wants to play for those)
He didn't do it in 15 years at another high profile program, so the odds are certainly against it.

We put up 50+ points and thoroughly dominated a Pitt team (to stop a 4 games skid where players didn't get it done in the crunch) that beat Clemson yesterday.
He's changed the protection, backed off the RPO, and is changing the identity of our football team for the better..
If we can kick a PAT, catch the easy passes, not hold on the backside of runs, pick up a fumble, or not make stupid personal foul penalties that negate PI calls and TFL... we'd have a better record. This level of correction exists at the player level. We need better players and more leaders. Enough of the Richt bashing 10 games into his tenure with AG players, he can't play the game for these kids.
Give him at least one recruiting class before you start ****ing the bed.
What do your eyes tell you that makes him average?
Do you know what Saban's record at Alabama was his first year?

I still think he needs one, because it would make his job that much easier, but I know he's not going to hire one, so it is what it is...The long passes on 3rd down aren't really on him...

Im glad you started paying attention.
You were scaring me hopping on the "Richt needs an OC" train.

Hiring another set of eyes would only help not hurt... But, again I already know it's not happening, so I've moved on.

Also, I resent that "paying attention" shot... Lol
I understand you're a genius, but just because someone has a difference of opinion doesn't mean they're not as informed as you.

He's probably made the decision to groom his son to be his OC in a few years just like he did with his other son Mike Bobo.

2002 13-1 finished ranked #3
2007 11-2 finished ranked #2
2012 12-2 finished ranked #4 and was 6 yards away from beating Bama and then destroying ND in the National Title game.
He's been in the running plenty of times.
