One last look at last years defense...

How can you say that when the ACC offenses play **** ACC defenses
Its all connected that’s kinda my point, he had the athletes and scheme built for the conference he was in

An upgrade in players might not mean much if he doesn’t adjust to the acc offenses week to week. Im not saying he won’t, im saying the players he’s getting now is separate from that.

Its like when people said gattis and guidry never had these level of players before, we saw eventually that didn’t matter. Again not saying hetherman will be them lol

He definitely did not have the players built for the level of competition he was facing at Minnesota.

Yes he did, he had the players and scheme built for that conference. We don’t have to downplay their players to hype ours man lol. He didn’t play one snap, im sure he would give them credit as well

We had used him judiciously the whole season, but those were the moments you ride him and let him earn that NIL deal. I was in Atlanta for that GaTech loss, as soon as Miami didn't get that 4th down, you could just feel the crowd REALLY getting into it. And our Oline was starting to really push them around upfront that drive
Our whole side collectively felt it too. It was like we all knew HERE WE GO AGAIN 🤣

GT kneeled out the clock at the 3 yard line as well.

7, but I'll say 8 games, we allowed the other team to out-perform their mean.

It was way too late to realize it but at Louisville was when I really figured out we had a problem. Then, the 2nd half of Duke I had convinced myself we might have figured it out only for GT to happen. I was delusional about it all year thinking the problems could have been fixed. Still can't convince me that communication issues (80% of the problem imo) can't be addressed better than they were....
After D Onofrio, I figure we would never witness another DC as helpless, as coach D. Guidry gave coach D a run for his money.

Whoever’s decision it was to sit Martinez from the end of the 3rd drive until midway through the 3rd quarter likely cost us that game and the ACCCG/playoffs. He ran easily up to that point. We could have traded scores the rest of the game and walked out of there with a 14/21 point win. He had gone 4 for 36 up to that point and ended only carrying the ball 10x for 81 yards. If they give him the ball 10x in the first half we win that game running away.
Yeah that was brutal too. Also that stretch before half against Florida wheee we went to Lyle when Martinez and Fletcher were playing well

Question for you @k9cane, I texted with @DMoney about this, 2013 team vs this 2025 team, who is more talented? 13 got no D. But great talent up and down the roster

OK, off the top of my head, I would say that if Beck plays the way we hope, he's a superior QB to Snickers Morris .But that offense had Duke Johnson, who before his injury at FSU was on his way to a monster year

Oline was really good that year, and you had a decent set of WRs and a TE like Walford. But that offense could be inconsistent

defensively I sorta like the upside of this years unit

Im leaning towards '25 but again, we do need to actually see them play a snap or two of football

Appreciate ya. Without seeing a snap I had this breakdown

Qb 25 (Beck but tbd)
Rb 13 (Duke better than anyone we have but maybe 25 is deeper)
Wr 13 (don’t think anyone as good as burns or Dorset)
Ol Push (4nfl guys - Linder, franklin, Feliciano, McDermott)

De 13(McCord and quan)
Dt 25 (Scott, clay, moten superior)
Lb 13 (Perryman still cashing nfl checks)
Cb 25 (not a great room but has burns)
Safety too little info but Rashawn played well as a Soph in 13

Dno and dukes injury derailed that talented group!
