If yes, and had Diaz accepted, I think that would have kept the staff as status quo meaning no OC as the available funds would have been used to keep Diaz.
But since that is no longer the case, I think it should free up some money to hire both up and coming OC and DC.
Will they is the ultimate question.

This program does not have $1 million for.an OC and $1.5 million for a DC. We just don't. Anyone telling you differently is lying.

Dude... this program has plenty of money to do what it wants. Between the ACC check, adidas check, and playoff check.... they’re fine. The acc network next year is only going make them more flush.

I can’t see them offering manny that type of money while simultaneously reducing the pot for an OC. It makes no sense.

While UM doesn’t make its books public, u can easily find out its revenue by googling. Dont be fooled into thinking they’re poor.

Richt has been given enough cash to do what we wants. They tried to make Diaz the second highest paid assistant, less than only Venables. They’re offering a mil for an OC. Kool got about the same money from Bama that we gave him.

Our admin Has fvcked the football team over the years, and still is, but they’re not going cheap anymore.

One anonymous person does not confirm we are paying 1 mil for an OC. We aren't even going to hire an OC. The next DC will probably be paid under a mil. Some first timer or someone from a mid major.

Most of our staff is here at bargin bin prices. Wake me up when we have the infrastructure of BAMA/Clemson/OSU types. Until then we simply won't be competitive.

And believe me, I do believe we have the money to do so.

Diaz wanted to be a Head Coach, accept it! This was the best defense he would have had at UM in the next 1-2 years. He saw the opportunity and took it! Nobody ran him off, nobody hated him, he loved UM and he had no problems with Richt. It was his time to go, people with aspirations, move on. This has nothing to do with an OC or staff conflicts.

It's come down to this: Hire Briles (or some other type of big name hire such as Canada)....or Richt is fired in 2019.

Not beating UF or FSU (especially with Briles) with Richt calling plays next season

I'm not so sure you aren't half right. Notice how Rumph was the only defensive staffer who wasn't promoted? Seeing as how he promoted Patke after a year, have to wonder if DVD is about to get that last spot.
 
LOL Richt is way too loyal to his current coaching staff (was this way at UGA for 15 years, not to mention his Son on staff...) and too stubborn to change. **** he just gave promotions to Patke/Banda instead of trying to go find a beast DC. Blake James sure as **** isnt going to force his hand. Richt isnt gonna do jack ****
