Once we get to see what we have in Tate

He never started a game at osu and played in blow outs. This dude will be graduating college in another year and yall still screaming bout what he did in high school. A lot of players were great in hs. Just like a lot of great college players don't make it in the nfl.

First, he's a RS Sophomore, not graduating next year. Second, he's a winner, unlike Kyle Williams and Jacory Perry. Finally, with the state of our o-line and our abundance of weapons, I believe we should be going spread, and Tate is built for the spread.

Was rooting for Tate to come in & do well in the QB competition. Unfortunately, all the signs & film evidence point to him not being an effective passer. He also didn't come close to turning the corner on UF's defense when he ran the ball (he was swarmed by them). I really wish this wasn't the case because he is a gamer, a fierce competitor, intelligent and a leader. I believe he has all of the intangibles you could want. If only, he could throw the ball effectively....

First he does have another year in school before he graduates. Second he isn't a winner as he hasn't done shìt in college. Nobody gives a shìt about what happened in hs 3 years ago. Finally he was in a spread at osu and they told his *** he had to go.

Tate's value plummets if they ask him to go under center with two tight ends on the field.

If they want to give him a shot in a scheme tailored to his strengths, I'm down to see what he can do on game day. I'd make Perry cough the job up first, though.

I don't give a **** at this point. I would take players looking like they wouldn't rather be at a funeral before kickoff at this point.

Manny not looking like he **** his pants on the sidelines would be pretty stellar too.

Try to stay objective. (1) Tate will play two more years after this season, not one. (2) What do you suggest constitutes being a winner? Jarren Wright is 2-3; N'Kosi Harris was 4-2 in 2018 as a starter . Tate was 42-0 in HS plus two collegiate wins, ZERO loses. I'm sorry but facts are stubborn, if that's not a winner, your bar is too high even for Ken Dorsey. (3) Tate was not asked to leave at OSU, he was beat out by an excellent player, not unlike Jalen Hurts. No shame in that, Perry and Williams were beat out by Rosier. Who knows what UM's record would be with Tate as QB1, we only know what it is with JW as QB1. Regardless, to somehow suggest Tate is not a winner is simply absurd--facts are facts, he's got game.

He can throw the ball effectively if allowed to return to his mechanics when he first arrived. Martell just isn’t a 3 and 5 step drop back passer. That’s just not how he grew up playing the game. He is one of those guys that is at his best just moving the pocket and feeling the flow of the game.

Dwayne Haskins won those 2 games not Martell.

And Jacory Harris was undefeated in HS, how'd that work out?

At OSU Tate was 23 for 28, 1 TD, no INTs. JH was an excellent HS QB, he was a winner. He got his chance, didn't make much of it. Whatever, you watch some uTube clips from Greentree and cast judgement on Tate, ignoring his accomplishments; that's your prerogative. Maybe you're right, we don't know. At least admit you were wrong about JW or NP, whichever of those two you thought was our savior....We've now confirmed neither one is the answer.

The dude was throwing 5 yard passes to open wrs in garbage time. Only at miami will you have fans asking for the 3rd string qb/ 8th wr to start.

Tate has 2 years on the field but he is a jr in actual school which means he has 1 more year until he graduates like i said.He has no college wins.Tate was told to leave. He said out his own mouth day told him to kick rocks. You claim jarren and kosi suck but both beat out tate. Fúck his hs career. He sucks in college. End of story.

I don't know if Tate is the guy or not (I was on the Miami Martell bandwagon until Jarron won the job) but at this point Diaz is at DefCon 1 and is not in the position to be saying who sucks and who doesn't until he actually sees them in game situations. Desperate times call for Desperate measures and we are desperate. So if Perry starts doing stupid **** like Jarren did against VT, throw Tate's a$$ out there and see what he can do! Diaz is coaching for his job past this season in 48hrs. He needs to throw the kitchen sink at UVA if he has to.

I remember in 1998 or 1999 when we played FSU and Butch wanted to beat them BAD. I think it was 1999. And Butch the opening kickoff called a surprise onside kick and it worked! Of course we still ended up losing. But I remember Bobby B said after the game, "When they ran a daddgum onside kick at opening kickoff I knew then they would do anything to win."..Welp folks, that needs to be us Friday night. We need to do anything to win and that includes involving Tate in the offense if necessary.
