The hype surrounding Miami Hurricanes quarterback Darian Mensah continues to grow as On3 analyst J.D. Pickell predicted Mensah to win the Heisman Trophy.

It really doesn't come to a surprise that Mensah is being named as a Heisman favorite. If you look at his numbers, it shows why. This past season, Mensah was one of the best signal-callers in the college football landscape. He won the ACC Championship as a sophomore quarterback, who threw for 3,973 yards and 36 touchdowns while only throwing six interceptions.



On3 named Oregon quarterback Dante Moore, Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, and Georgia quarterback Gunnar Stockton all behind the Hurricanes quarterback to take the trophy.

Mensah will have an elite wide receiver corps to try and achieve the trophy. Mario Cristobal brought over his No. 1 target at Duke, Cooper Barkate --who is coming off a 1,000 yard season. The Hurricanes retained the most exciting player in college football, Malachi Toney. Dre Jacobs and Cam Vaughn come over from Power Five programs to help Miami get back to the College Football Playoff.

Add Gunnar Stockton to that. I don't get it other that the fact that Stockton is the QB for a highly ranked UGA team. I would put Manning and Carr ahead of Stockton.
