There are pros and cons for sure. He is inexperienced and is a defensive coach which is a dying breed at head coach. He is also not an elite recruiter according to some. But one thing to me is clear: his teams will never be lazy and unmotivated. The attitude we have been wanting for a long time is here. Diaz is not corny and he always gets his players to play their hardest. He was the main motivator of this team all season which explains his defense not bending and that’s hard to do when your offense is **** on a stick. However I do think he needs to put together a **** of a staff on that offensive side to be good.

The first true sign is to see what he does with offense. There are only 2 guys who should have their jobs secure(imo) Hartley and Dugans

I think defensively we'll keep balling maybe not as much next year but not a real drop off. Now on offense rb wise I don't see TB as a problem Walton, Dallas, Homer, Davis none have looked bad other then Dallas fumbling for a few games so he's good, Dugans and Hartley aren't issues but drop $1 at least on an oc/qb coach and have him decide on Searles and we should work

The statement reads like a collaboration with the athletic department and HC, with more resources for the program. Manny can hire anyone he wants on offense and pay them whatever they need to be successful, IMO. He's young, innovative, passionate, and understands the Miami culture/community. Keep Hartley and Dugans on staff if possible and let the new OC do what he needs to otherwise.

Have to admit, if we spend any less than a dollar on our OC/QB coach I will start to question the schools commitment to football.

As far as recruiting goes,

Now secured for 2019 with Manny at the helm:

TS (if he in fact hasn't signed yet)
Bogle
Dent
Brothers
MAR

Throw in Fuller or Hunter and all those 2020/21 decommits.

Not trying to be a jerk but what on earth makes you think Stevenson or Bogle are coming? Like Diaz was a deal breaker or something? They gone man

We gotta get that proven OC, but, then, why the **** not? All relationships are still there. They will thrive in this defense.

I know nothing about them or their recruitment but I believe those caliber of players want to win and that’s not going to happen here with this coaching staff in my opinion

You can’t have a **** recruiter at Miami. This sucks.

Recruiting went to **** because the team lost. Manny has a proven product on defense. He even had pretty decent defensive commits even after the bottom fell out this year. Some on defensive staff can recruit well. Adding that ace recruiter would help but you can only paint so much lipstick on a pig. The offense was stinking it up. Hopefully, we wont have that handicap going forward.

There is not evidence that he is a **** recruiter. He only recruited linebackers and basically got everyone he went after.
He was the defensive coordinator, so he spearheaded the charge for all of the blue chip targets we’ve missed on since Richt began his tenure.

If our DC was only recruiting LBs that's a major issue.

Those said LBs he did get haven't developed or did shït also.

Can Diaz develop players?

56 stagnated or even took a step back since his freshman year, I thought he could have been AA caliber

55 is overrated

53 can't get on the field
