Just numbers.

Safety: Poyser
Safety: Omar or Koi
Nickel: Bryce

If you get both, youre sending bryce to 2nd team? I dont see that flying with him. I dont think any of the above players are 2nd team next year, those are all full time starters.
Koi will play Nickel, Bryce will play multiple spots like he does now.

If you get Koi and Thornton + retain Poyser and Fitz, you got 4 guys for 3 spots. They can still collectively average 75% of snaps. Thats not even taking into account packages where all 4 are on the field OR injuries.

Give me all the top talent we can get, figure out the snaps later.

I do think this would push out Day who has shown flashes. Obviously a step behind the 4 above though.

Other than special teams, mostly last year, what game or play at safety has Day flashed?

We need both. I don't think its realistic to think we'll be able to stay as healthy next year with how much we ask our safeties to get involved in the box and the ferocity they play with.

It's a miracle Poyser has been able to stay healthy considering his size and playing style.

To be clear, I'm not a Day stan. I'm fine getting Koi/Thornton if that means Day is gone.

Agree he's not someone we have enough proof to be super excited about. IMO he's a good depth piece that would get in the game next year. But since you asked, here's one flash from a very quick search:

No doubt he's physical,we've seen it on special teams but a liability in coverage.

He ain’t any worse than Thornton in coverage and if I’m being honest day has the physical traits to be better. Day would excel closer to the line like Scott or Thomas.

I wouldn't rule out Poyser making the move to nickle (I know @Memnon has mentioned he has the skillset to play there) and then if you bring in Perich…Perich your SS, Fitzgerald you deep FS (Although obviously we move our guys around)
