Don’t forget we had 3 “3 star” starters on the best Oline in football last year. If there’s any position coach that we can trust to develop, it’s OL.

Yea but five star talents at OT go top ten with our staff. It's not good to be this close and miss on two of them

In Mario’s tenure here, he’s signed three five star OT. One became a first rounder, next be came a very good guard by year 3 and the other is a fresh. They’ve never had two five stars at OT at the same time and have still had a very good to elite OL . And the bell of early 2024 vs the bell of late 2025 was a massive improvement and practically a different player. I’d bet on the development of a young guy for next year unless a Matthews stays home

Oh course this staff has tons of talented young guys with potential like Buchanan, Congdon, Wilkerson. They can more than hold their own and make this a good o-line. Just would suck being this close to landing two monsters. Pairing one of them opposite Cantwell would make it dam near impossible for edges to get to our QB

I wouldn't be surprised if Same-Epele is still on the board, especially if no Matthews and if his price tag is more reasonable than Olu

It just seems like Matthews is only one they are ready to break bank for (Although I'm sure Tatum and Williams have very respectable offers). And with what we landed at OT last year, that's understandable.

Agreed my man- I guess if it’s me, I trust this staff to develop at OL more then any other position. So I’d rather the funds go towards fortifying an elite DL and LB

There's also Kelsey Adams,committed to georgia who is scheduled to visit.
 
Every year miami loses top targets and gets some also. People freak. And Mario casts a net flips kids new 4 star kids show up and the class is close to the top 10

Is the bag the be all, end all for Mathews? Or is early playing time a factor? I’d be curious to know if he would be a for sure starter as a freshman with 8&4. Because I’m fairly certain that we are not guaranteeing him a starting position as a freshman. He’d have to come in and beat out Congdon/Ervin/Wilkerson next year and I’m not sure that’s going to be an easy task.

Mathew’s is like Cantwell he’ll walk in and start or be in the top 5
