2027 Oluwasemilore Olubobola 4* OT from Jersey City, NJ (St. Peter's Prep)

Agree w both of them needing size/strength. Neither will be 330+ like Francis/Jackson game 1. Difference is I’d bet MM expects to play here/TAMU day 1. Olu probably not so much with him being newer to football. He’d probably be a strong RS candidate, which I’d love as it’d create some separation and he’d be ready to go at LT as a RS-Soph in ‘29.
IDC about him being LT vs RT. Just get the best 5 on the field. If people keep thinking of it like the old school RT is the Power OT and the LT is the pure Pass Pro OT, then I'd get Olu at LT. That's not real though, so Idc.

I do think that there isn't some MAJOR need to have either of these dudes start right away at RT though. It'd be nice if they were ready and won the job quick, but I don't think it's a major need as things stand today.

For 2027:
- McCoy is definitely gone. But he seems to me the only 1000% guarantee to be gone due to elligibility.
- Ryan Rodriguez is next given he's a 6th yr RS Sr, HOWEVER worth mentioning 2021 he Redshirted, 2022 could qualify as Medical RS given he missed the entire yr recovering from offseason surgery (This one is questionable), 2023 he played 6 games so def counts, 2024 got season ending surgery after game 1 so SHOULD be a Medical RS, 2025 he played in almost every game so counts, and 26 he will play... So really it's POSSIBLE he could return another year depending if the 2022 season counts as a MedRS. But probably safe to assume hes done. Plus we'd want an upgrade anyways I'll assume.
- Samson can return in 27, which would actually be quite interesting. Its likely that he'd want to enter the draft, however this will technically only be his first year starting. Maybe he'll decide it's best to have another year. Absolutely possible. But the interesting thing to consider is would he just stay at Guard, or would we play him at RT? That may be based on who the Next best Guard/OT is. Like if it's Congdon or Hawks/Wilkerson/Meriweather... It may be a good idea to go Cantwell - Congdon - SJ/Portal - Buchanan - Okunlola

Either way imo Cantwell and Buchanan are the guaranteed starters at LT and RG in 2027. Samson is a guaranteed starter if he returns, I just don't know if that is LG or RT. Next up after that I feel confident Congdon will be a starter sooner than later. Ervin I think is very talented but will probably take 2 years, same with Pickett especially since they're off to slow starts due to injury. Meriweather only returns in 2027 if he's likely starting. Hawks may be patient, think he's only going to be a Sophomore in 2026 and probably redshirts. Wilkerson will be competing for RT. Minaya I'd assume will compete for LG.... Does SJ win the starting Center job or not. If not he needs to leave and we need a portal Center.

I still think Buchanan NEEDS to get Center reps in practice, cause I can absolutely see a world in 2026 where our best lineup is Cantwell - Okunlola - Buchanan - Congdon/Meriweather/McCoy - McCoy/Meriweather

You take away he’s from South Florida and no one would be crashing out.

Who do you think has more upside? Sounds like Matthews has a Samson trajectory but he believes he’s the next Francis (Cantwell too given how he’s looked so far).

From what I heard it seems Olu has a higher ceiling but a lower floor.
Matthews better than Samson coming in

This....

Matthews likely is more ready to go cause he will be battle tested. But yea it aint Francis or Cantwell even with the ranking to me.

This isnt sour grapes either i have always stated this.

Not too many Cicis or Cantwell running around.

I am not sure Olu is a 1st year starter like MM will be. MM has the feet to start at LT early. Cantwell doesn't and that's why he struggles with speed rushers. Cantwell has the power so his traits scream RT, but circumstances dictated a change. I would love to get MM, have him start next season at LT and move Cantwell to RT. We aren't getting MM so. I am praying they get Buchanan snapping better and he is the C. That gives us our best OL this season. I won't discuss Mario favorites, but you get it.

I've said it a million times - there is no actual difference between LT and RT. Every single defense in the country has the ability to line their best speed rusher on either side. This isn't pre-2ks anymore. The only half good argument is purely QBs blind side. But that's not even as good of an argument much anymore due to how we start in shotgun...

SJ needs to literally never take another snap at guard, he needs to be exclusively training at center. And Buchanan needs to cross train at center too. Been saying that. We have a LOT of guys that I'd feel confident stepping in at Guard today. Center I believe we can hide, but it does seem like Rodriguez is the current weak link. But it comes down to if Rodriguez is better/worse than Meriweather/Congdon/Wilkerson/Minaya and of course SJ...

for both Miami and Tx Am so not really a pivot as he has been highly recruited by both throughout
I’m from CT and my brother lives in jersey. He’s been talking this kid up big time. Missing on Matthews makes no sense but I’ll take this kid. By the way the heck is going on at STA ?

He's a 5 star on most sites. Getting either him or Matthews is huge. And that would be following up an excellent 2026 OL class.
Yeah we missed on the running back who went to Auburn and getting this kid if Matthews likes cows and **** would be fine. Keys is a terrific back. Great job with that one although that’s a tough state to keep kids from.

sta is one of our feeders.

But they are unique in they are the elite in south florida and broward county at that. Which means the kids that are going there are typically the nfl players kids, some prominant ppls kids, etc there school demographic is a lil different. But this is why i say the coach at sta isnt typically in any control of their kids recruitment...coach smith had a lil more cache with if an sta kid committed more than likely he wasnt allowing flips.

We can land an sta this class in Jaden carey whos a cb and a can legacy if we push for him....its weird we didnt offer Justin Smith(nfl) son at de Wyatt Smith as its a need ...he would be a kid i would push for unless its something dad already told staff cause we havent recruited him at all.

I think some of yalla re forgeting Jordan Lyle, OJ Frederique, Ryan Mack are sta kids.

I thin we are ok there. I think Gamble never was that high on us,a nd julius jones is a nd legacy who it looks like we arent pushing for.

Got ya. I think what’s weird is that Texas AM has money but so does Miami. NO school plan offer the coaching Miami can with respect to developing O lineman and we are fresh off beating AM and ending up in the title game. Losing this kid makes no sense. It does if you consider kids are strange today. But it’s the position and the location plus the winning on the field that has people scratching their heads.

Smith is interesting because he has blown up in the rankings. Went from a 3 star to top 100 on 247 and in the composite but the only big offer he has is osu and nd. And I don’t think nd is recruiting him. None of the florida schools have offered

which is weird and maybe they(the parents) stated that he is leaving the state for school no matter what
