OLine is our most critical need

I posted this maybe a week ago, but first yea we are puzzies up front both sides w one or two exceptions. I went to Jerry World this year to watch all the Texas HS state championships, watched 6 games, the size of these boys here is crazy, damm 4a school's w 300 lb linemen, 5 and 6a their OL is as big or bigger than ours, and these guys are not fatazzes either. When I got home got online to see where these kids are headed, Jimbo is killing it, but the thing that stuck out to me was Tom Herman at Texas, dude is LOADING TF up on linemen, both sides. He is doing w he knows needs to be done to compete w bama/uga/taint and that's trench warfare, watch the Horns the next few years, this guy knows what he's coin. Speed burners are a dime a dozen, especially in SoFlo, OP is correct this is what we need to concentrate on. Also we can't seem to find a QB to save our lives, these Florida boys seem flimsy to me, do y'all realize the number of quarterbacks to come out of Texas the last 15 years, its crazy, google it, what comes up is "Texas is QB capitol of the world". Jimmy recruited the **** outta Texas, he's a Texan, Dennis not so much, stayed close mostly, Butch hit Texas hard w Pete Garcia, who was my " check in" guy, Butch had them rings from the Boy's to flash if needed. When Butch left that pretty much ended the Texas recruiting, not one Texas kid is committed to this U, that's just lazy IMO. Now I'm thinking Manny was at Texas for awhile, he should know what's here, you know damm well Mack Brown's sorry *** will be hitting it hard. Let's get back to that ole recipe Jimmy started, get you speed from SoFlo, then raid the **** outta Texas for them big eaters. **** man most these kids never even seen a beach, would flip out on a stroll down South Beach, and you could tell em you see all this fine booty everywhere, come here and its o this you want. Jimbo and Herman can't take em all, Texas has a million high schools

Manny best not make that mistake. New coaches must HAMMER recruing on the LOS first and foremost, above all. That is how year 3 > year 2. Otherwise, it’s a self - fulfiling prophesy

COACHING is our biggest problem.Until this is fixed everything else is just a bi-product and will Continue to struggle.
 
Hopefully our next HC is a former college football champion olineman who sent a LT first round last year and a DE who likely will be a top 5 pick this year.

One can hope.

No idea why you wrote that. I didn't say what you can't do. But if you think we can compete for titles without significantly upgrading our line talent, then we can just disagree.

It was sarcasm Sir. Over these last few years many posters were claiming better coaching would scheme around our poor oline talent by going up tempo spread. Which is for sure not true so we agree.

Yet another reason to go after Mario… he’ll finally recruit/build a legit offensive line that UM hasn’t had in 20 years.
 
We have a starting TE that cannot block and lame running backs that are not very good so is it all the OL or a combination? I do have a friend who was an All American and he hated QB's that would not work the pocket, a QB has to have faith in his blockers but today with scrambling QB's are they trained to use the pocket. Designed runs are one thing for a QB but not trusting and utilizing the pocket can be frustrating per my friend.
