Oline coach?

Who is hired as OC and OL coach will be extremely telling. Diaz has a few disciples on defensive staff and isn't overpaying. Big money positions on staff will be OC and OL. Would certainly assume OL coach will top $475K
 
Rick Trickett isn't doing anything right now and wouldn't you love to **** off FSU! Honestly the candidates I would consider would be Jeremiah Washburn (Dolphins OC) Randy Clements as well.

Rick Trickett is responsible for the dumpster fire that FSU has at OL right now.
 
It should be someone well versed in running the type of offense we are going to run. You can hire a great OL coach who is used to working in a system like Georgia runs who might not be great in a Briles type of offense.

Could be wrong, but don't believe Randy Clements has been hired by Florida State. Administration & Taggart took heat over the hiring of Briles, so it's possible they've backed away or still waiting for him to be fully vetted.

If indeed Applewhite is the OC choice, the vetting process with him could also be reason for the delay. There's an ongoing sexual discrimination suit filed against Texas by the former women's track coach in which Applewhite's past indiscretions comes up. So it'll be back in the news at some point. Claims she was treated differently than Applewhite who only had his salary frozen (not to mention another part by the Mrs) after a sexual fling with a UT trainer. Another delay could be vetting of Clements if he's coming as OL coach, tied to his being on the infamous Baylor staff with the Briles.
