I’m sitting here thinking about spring training as it gets closer as heat is building in South Florida as winter ends.

Back in the day at Southwest Sr high 1973-74 coach Juppin would turn on a water spiket by the band room and we’d run over and take our helmets off turn our helmets into big containers with our hands keeping water in the helmets with sweat, dirt and yes vomit left behind in field and drink it .

Anyway figured this would be a good post to share ole school football stuff from back in the day.

Yes it’s sickening to read but when your experiencing this you’d drink from a puddle in the street.

Too bad Southwest never had a team ... I loved when my Miami High Stingarees saw Southwest on the schedule. We couldn't be stopped ... not by Southwest '74-'76.

Yep , I personally was on the short end of it .
I used to love playing in the OB on the turf was an experience I still have photos of it from Miami News , hows that for ole news paper.

You probably knock me on my keestet LOLOL.

Playing on the turf at the OB was like playing on old bathroom scrub brushes turned up. Burn the **** out you.
 
What was the saddest thing SW had no money to buy tape ankles we never did .
we brought our own , that’s how I learned the art of taping the hard way.I had massive tape cutting since had no wrapping under the tape

Another thing Being s Freshmen we had the hsnd me downs from varsity, you imagine how bad that was.

I went to Zipps sporting goods and bought my own pants and actually thigh pads and so on , so I did have some good stuff even got my own helmet there and painted it

Wait, winter is over? Crap I missed another So Fl winter. That is the ***** about spending lifetime down here, you sleep late one day and you miss another winter.
