Ole Miss vs FSU Gameday Discussion

Cook still looks like the truth, francois looked alright considering it was his first start. FSU doesn't look that dominant.. i feel good about our chances this year.

I fear this will play out like it did two years ago when we dominated them in the first half but then just pooped out in the second half.
I hope I'm wrong

My concern as well. The 2014 team had more depth as well. If only we had richt then! That game was won. We had them

The difference is that we have savages in the coaching staff. That's the only reason I think we can beat them.

Yeah,400 yds vs a SEC D ,not bad.

SEC D doesn't mean good. They have no secondary and lost their best cover corner to start the game, it was only a matter of time before FSU made adjustments. Ole miss gets hyped up every year they'll be at least a 3 loss team this year.

1. Game isn't over.
2. Lot of Cook hate in this thread but you all know he's better than any of our rb's
3. FSU does look very beatable though...

1. Extremely true. Anything can happen.
2. But is he better than our Hydra monster at the position?
3. I'm think Lousiville might take the Atlantic this year.

2. I'd take one elite game-changing back all day over two very good backs and one average back (has Gus proved any more than that?)

Cook is like Duke. Anytime he touches the ball you know he has a chance to take to the house. You cant say that about any of our backs IMO

Absolute truth

And cook is not like duke cook wont get caught from behind. Cook is top back or two in cfb duke was never that.....love duke but calm down.

Oh Lawd, a member of the Classy Brigade.
Shove your dopey opinion where the sun don't shine.

LOL i hate FSU as much as the rest of you but take off the hater shades and check reality.

I don't need "hater shades" to hate that trailerpark school.
It's natural and this is a Cane board where it is my birthright to hate any program that is not UM,
including our two inbred neighbors in north Florida.
So shove that "reality check" real deep.

Cool story bro?

And check the scoreboard, told you the game was far from over. But i guess your biased opinion was unable to see that one coming. "Reality check" time?

You cant talk sense to a mob

Like talking to canelivesmatter

Like this is our rival we got to talk about them because we trying to over take them lol. Lol at acting like they dont exist to make the bad man go away type ****

Who the **** cares about an SEC d. It was a typical sec team. Loaded front 4 decent MLB all of them sucked in coverage. Especially once the starters at CB were gone & they started playing true frosh.it was a dnofrito scheme. Atleast 10 yard cushions & bailing right off the snap. Honestly they were both throwing up lame duck passes all night & fspew kid was checking down 3 quarters of the time. Only thing slightly impressive was his toughness & ability to run. Watch these slurperst start comparing him to ward now. That d is pretty impressive though & that Marshall kids trying to kill someone on every hit. In the old days wed have a lil action on the side over who could claim his knees. As I've been said all along sec will always prove itself to be extremely top heavy whenever gave a chance. You cook slurpers crack me up calling him elite. Other than his speed what makes him elite? His vision? Lmfao all they do with him over & over till they finally win a gap is go off tackle. Make no mistakes he's not Nick chubb or elliot or A.p or anyone similar. All he can do is run. An elite back does it all. So for the genius who said Duke isn't elite but this guy is you should honestly be banned as a slurper. An elite back possesses numerous tools. The only one Duke didn't have was that track speed & honestly with the right staff he would've had that. You seem to forget how much weight folder made him put on.

Ole Miss wasn't necessarily a top 5 D, and they lost their number 1 corner.. don't get me wrong, a solid performance, but i saw the first half, and wasn't blown away. That said it, it was his first start and he looked alright.

****. This board did quite the 180.
Seriously...this thread went full schizo

Francois is a bum to now he is better than Jameis.

Shaky at first but FSU is a pretty complete and deep team. Tough out for anyone, especially if Francois can be consistent and limit turnovers.

BS. Ole Miss D is suspect

watching the first half they looked big fast then the wheels come off, thats when depth and talent take over.

They still may be big and fast as the season goes on. They certainly came out with a good game plan and executed well that first half.

We've seen it time and again though with Jimbo. They hit the half, make adjustments, and there's not many better than him or his staff. Ole Miss didn't adjust, what they did the first half worked. When FSU came roaring back, they didn't adjust, and were picked apart.

LuCane we had prediction but score was way off. Lol.
Bimbo still didnt open the playbook for him but he makes some of if not the best adjustments in the game.

He spots a weakness quick.

Charles kelly is still in over his head, imo. Richt should eat all day.

Yall calling Francois "real" and all need to chill. Running around like a chicken with your head cutoff because you lost your progression only makes you the 2nd coming of e.j. manuel

Francois isn't Winston, but this is similar to what everyone on here said about Winston after the Pitt game. The DBs just stood there, let's see what happens when a decent team gets in his face, not that impressive. I'm not ready to crown the kid but he looked great in his first start and got better as the game went.

No sir. Not even close to the same because PITT aint Ole Miss.

The difference is the type of playcalls and how much Bimbo trusts his QB.

It was different with Winston because it was clear he was operating in an open offense and going thru progressions with great anticipation, timing, and accuracy on his throws.

Winston ran when necessary. not because he doesn't remember his next read. Jimbo never had to call bootleg throw-back passes to create offense for Winston.

I can see how someone can make your assessment from face value but when you understand X's and O's it's quite clear Francois was being carried by great athletes and excellent coaching in last nights game.

They flashed a stat during the game that when behind at half time, the Noles come back and win more than 50% of the time. They are very, very good at half time adjustments. Al Folden decided to sit on the lead and nurse it along. Got beat. Looked to me like Ole Miss went into a "protect - mode" as well. Natural tendency to want to go conservative and limit turnovers when you have a big lead, but that plays tight into their hands. Moral of the story, keep your foot on the gas pedal. Richt is an excellent coach so I don't think we'll have that problem anymore.

I'm glad they won. I've despised the Gators since age 2 and root against them in everything. With Florida State it's sporadic. You can actually talk to their fans about strategy and personnel or whatever. Well, some of their fans. Their fans vary radically in class and competence. I've detected no meaningful variance among Gators.

The vaunted SEC West was within an eyelash of 1-6. Only Alabama won handily. There were 4 losses while Arkansas survived by 1 point and Texas A&M in overtime. That's one of the reasons I had no problem rooting for Florida State to finish off that comeback, since it would allow further focus on the short term decline of the SEC, with ACC teams defeating Auburn and Mississippi from Alabama's division.

Saban and Meyer are simply on a different level. They would never tolerate prolonged lapses in intensity like Florida State has demonstrated throughout last season and into this one. The Seminoles rallied for a title after a steady defensive uptick culminating with a terrific 4.09 yards per play allowed in that 2013 championship season. From that point there's no evidence they understand what got them there. Comebacks are for suckers. So difficult to bail out every time.

That Michigan State upset at Columbus in the rain late last season ruined the 4-team playoff and distorted college football reality. Saban is unquestionably on top but Ohio State is nearby and not going anywhere. Look at the number of premier players they sent into the top rounds of the draft a few months ago. That program went into Ann Arbor and blasted Harbaugh by 29. I have no idea how Ohio State dropped to 6th or wherever in the preseason polls. When you have that many great players it screams you know what you are doing and the underlings are likely special also. Alabama would never suffer that type of doubt or disrespect.

Like I said, he isn't Winston, Winston was special. Still the kid played lights out in his first start and I compare the two because as Canes it's difficult for us to give credit to a rival player. I compared the two because Winstom went for 300+ and had only two incompletions and people still weren't impressed. Now Farncois threw for 400 and people are still playing it off like its nothing. Reality is that FSU has a competent QB something that was questioned going into the season. You couple that with t depth and talent they have and they will be difficult to beat. I think we can do it but Francois being competent and mobile to add, will make it tough to beat by anybody. Their OL seemed to struggle though. Hard to tell if it was all them or if Ole Miss has the horses up front.

My homeboy demarquis gates was #3 linebacker for ole miss was balling though. Them boys was tired only reason they lossed tbqh. They was on the field for 75% of the game because their offense was feast or famine
