rt darling st louis odagwu

to me odagwu is gonna end up moving on soon. i don't see him in top 2. i think st louis will be third tackle. i like darling as a rt. i like mcdermott but he might do better at gaurd. milo is very athletic and can move i see him winning lt spot.

You realize Odogwu was our best lineman last season right?

i disagree. heavily . he was always getting caught holding or moving early. he was the most undisciplined ol guy on team. linder was best ol guy. he never seemed to get called for anything.

There's no way Isidora and Linder don't both start.

Any prediction leaving either of them out is a foolish one.

Isidora hasn't played well since the first half of the 2014 season. He had a solid 2015 season as a pass blocker, but was really bad run blocking. He has, by far, the most playing experience of any OL on the roster. That may be enough to keep him starting, but the competition at OG is going to be stiff, especially if Darling moves inside and if Isidora doesn't wake up, he will be second string.

If Darling moves inside, who are the tackles?

Huge risk to go with St. Louis and Odogwu.

Agree. Sunny struggled mighty against any speed rushers, holding he's very good at. Go look at the FSU, Cincy games as examples.
Its why I hope Milo and St.Louis can surpass Sunny.

Please dont start Alex "turnstile" Gall.

LT Darling - started all 12 games at LT. No reason why someone with no experience would jump him.

LG Gall - starter this spring with Odogwu out unless Gauthier comes on

C Linder

RG Isidora

RT McDermott - his job to lose unless St. Lou beats him out this spring

Gall was the worst offensive lineman I've seen in years.

Rok,

That's the basic lineup that got torched by Clemson. Our 5 couldn't block their 3.

Darling and KC can't handle the speed rush. Gall can't play. Linder is not strong enough to fight the best DTs (see his bowl game performance against WSU).

YOU GOT ANY BETTER SUGGESTIONS?!?!?

i have gall as a swing gaurd center. i think mcdermott may end up at lg, darling to me is a rt. he was just playing out of position at lt. he should be a solid rt. st louis i know played more last year then milo but milo to me has such great mobility i think will end up the lt. st louis to me is swing tackle. he will play lt and rt as needed.

Gall needs to be passed up in the rotation. If he's playing we're sunk. I haven't given up on KC Mcdemott yet, he's dealt with a few injuries since he's been here and clearly had some raw talent. A healthy offseason and hopefully he can replace Gall at one of the guard spots.

Wow!
Rewatch the Cincy and FSU games, its sad with our size we are weak at the point of attack on the LOS.
We must get stronger, more athletic and aggressive type linemen, I dont see much of that in our Oline.

Not even worried about the OL

Darling - started 13 games at LT
Linder - started 13 games at C
Isidora - started 13 games at RG
Dogflu - started 8 games at RT
McDermott - started 7 games at LG, RT
Gall - started 7 games at LG

St. Louis, Jones, Milo, Gauthier, Mahoney, Loftus, Knighton, Grimsley have all been here at least one year.

Much better shape than this time last year.

Rok,

You are right that our OLIne has much more experience and depth than we had at this time last year.

But, it's not at all clear that we will have more talent than last year.
* at no time could we establish a power running game in short yardage situations
* at no time could we handle speed rushers on the outside in passing situations

I'm hoping that better coaching, better conditioning and a couple of breakthrough players can improve our OLine performance. But to not be "even worried" is naive.

Rok, You know just because they have 7 to 13 starts doesn't mean they didn't underperformed and does not mean they cant be replace by underclassmen. All 6 of those players had issues last season and they had major issues as a unit.
False starts, costly dumbfounded penatlies, no running lanes, pass protection issues etc..
They couldn't pull or trap much less get tough yards by dominating the LOS. And some wondered why we drop from 48th to 116th in rushing

However, its a new year, a new coach, a new offense,a new philosophy,a new approach, a new voice

My starting OL

RT-St.Louis
RG-Darling
C- Linder
LG-McDermott
LT- Milo

Ro,

Agree completely. As to your lineup, what would you think of Isidora rather than Linder at Center? I love Linder's smarts and effort. But, he has been overwhelmed by big, tough DTs (see Bowl Game tape). I'm thinking Isidor could make us more physical in the middle if he can pick up the leadership part of the Center position.

The good teams always have a significant number of combined starts along the OL. Entering 2015 they had under 20 total if I'm not mistaken so there was going to be growing pains.

Maybe St. Louis and Milo are ready to kick ***. The more likely outcome is that the older guys with more experience hold them off at least in the beginning. If St. Louis was all that good he'd have played last year. The fact that he couldn't crack the rotation doesn't lead me to believe he's our new LT in 2016 out of the ******* blue.

I do think that St. Louis, Milo, Gauthier and Mahoney will all be in the mix and will eventually take snaps away from Gall and Odogwu.

Gall will lose his spot that's all I know, hopefully Milo & St. Louis
