OL Moves

Seaton was never ours and we were never going to outbid Lane in his honeymoon year. So, no, he was not a miss.
Fair im just saying the best case scenario, you can replace Seaton with someone else. The issue is seaton or bust, we should have been more aggressive this year

Yeah, you’re right on that point. And there was a possibility one of our starters would be suspended to start the season. They definitely should’ve at least brought in a starting G.

McCoy Needs to kick inside idk if he’s being stubborn about or the coaching staff…

But for the playoff run we’ve got to get the best talent on the field…. JC CANNOT be any worse than SJ who can’t run block, pass block, or even pick up a stunt

What makes you think it would be JC if they did make that move? Hawks is RT2 from what I've seen. Cantwell plays straight up with no bend. He is huge & strong as biblical Samson but his technique is preventing that from being an asset. He has potential to be an all-time great, he's just not there yet & that's okay.

Yeah I
Know
But we don’t know if another 500K wluld
Have done the job
Having said that
We needed 1-2 OL added that we didn’t get
We added Meriwether thinking he would help. Every team in the country with some cash to spend wants to add starting ol. There's just not a lot of them out there and sometimes you don't have an opportunity. One thing we've learned is if Mario can add someone of value, he tends to do so.

We’ve seen JC actually come in at times which should allude to him being the 6th or 7th dude off the bench currently.

Zero insiders bring hawk up currently so that means the staff isn’t even trying to build hype(green tree all American status) about him currently

But I think that's the issue. With Max injured, SJ is our best option. That means a bunch of guys we recruited with much more ideal size are worse options now, which sucks, and also means the portal OL we picked up is also a worse option. Mistakes were made and then a guy got injured.
I don't necessarily believe that. We were playing SJ over Cogdon early on and that was a mistake.

At this point I'm just going to assume Cantwell is injured and the staff doesn't feel he's ready physically. I refuse to believe Mirabal is incompetent.

With that said, the second he's healthy he needs to be at least sharing reps to get SJ off the field.
That’s a good call
Maybe he is injured
I have to think they want him to progress and or be healthy

He has played a lot more snaps at right tackle this year than Jackson Cantwell has.

We should have gotten a starting guard and perhaps a guy who could play tackle if someone got hurt and not get the QB killed. Instead we got 71 who is neither of those things. But what's done is done
fair.

at the time, being that i was all in on Cantwell being the next coming, I wanted a Center and a tackle. Figured it could be someone at LT, mccoy, portal center (coleton price), samson to give cantwell a vet to help him, and cantwell at RT.

funny enough kentucky ended up w/ 2 of the guys i woulda liked and now i watch and sigh watching Baxter run behind them (seemingly with a 2 ton trailer hitched to him) when it shoulda been Fletch & Mallory.

Havent read entire thread, but something I notice this season is whenever the RB gets held up in a scrum, the OL is never able to push the pile forward for another couple yards. Last year Sisi and Cooper would push the pile forward every time. We'd get an extra 15-20 yards rushing a game from that. This year the scrum either just stays put or goes backwards

I think we just took an elite offensive line for granted

Listen I love Marty, but we need to put some respect on #21's name!!! Stop putting Lyle in, and let the freshman cook!!! #21 and #1 won the game for us last night

no doubt. respect is there on #21. he is the clear #2, great to see Fletch hyping him up in interviews as well
