Ol Miss vs ATM

See how the Ole Miss coverage guys waited for the official to blow the punt dead so more time would tick off the clock?

Our guys would've downed it 5 seconds earlier.

That's coaching vs corching

I do think the little things like that need to be cleaned up with a huge staff like we have. They add up over the course of a game and season.

I think it came down to program stability. I thought lane was the better coach but it’s rational to not give a jumper like him such a big contractor. I think stability along with other biases sold people on Mario

What? You don’t think this is cool and normal?

I think that the short-term ceiling with Lane was significantly higher than with Cristobal. Probably years 1 - 3, although either would have to contend with serious roster issues (offensive line, linebacker, cornerback) that the previous regime left behind.

Long-term, Mario's ceiling is higher because he's far more likely to have Miami's talent level to a point by Year 4 that its benefits will outweigh the schematic advantages that Lane would bring. I also think that Mario is far more likely to stay. If Lane were to be offered the Georgia or Alabama jobs, or a NFL HC position, he'd jump.

Doubtful he would go back to Bama and very doubtful they would want him back.

Ole Miss has a small dline. I suspect Bama n Arkansas are gonna have big games on the ground.
I would imagine so. Kinda weird Jimbo went away from it and tried to win it through the air.

But they’ll hang in there for a while. Lane is great in first half’s, no matter how undermanned he is.

Lane wouldn’t leave Miami for any college program. He might for an NFL job, but not just any NFL job, the right one.

Debates about Kiffin aside, what does loss #5 mean for A&M? I'm more interested in that program's dysfunction. A floundering, underperforming A&M is somewhat less likely to be competitive for key recruits in the future.

And….guys that portal outta there.

You have to wonder what are schools thinking giving out contracts requiring $60-70M+ buyouts? Does Michigan State seriously think Mel Tucker is worth $9M/yr? Even if the B1G TV deal pays $100/team.

Heck, same for Mario. Make a mistake and you’re done.
