OL Coach is just as important as the DL Coach...

What's the word on the next OL Coach at Miami? I'd love to see Kehoe fired/demoted and replaced with an OL Coach that can recruit as well as develop talent.

I have an eye on Stacy Searels, who won't be retained by Virginia Tech as a possible candidate.

One thing is for sure, we need coaches who can recruit players AND develop them at practically all of the positions we have available.

Since we have richt as hc already, kuligowski as the dline coach. Would we be opposed to bringing in Cristobal now since he won't be the head coach? He would definitely bring an edge to the offensive line

There was a post on this site earlier today indicating that coach Richt may be bringing his old OL coach from Georgia with him. Don't recall the name or which thread it was in but some in that thread were complaining that the guy suggested in that post is worse than Kehoe. Safe to say that nobody knows anything at this point though.

What has Vag Tech's OL done that is so noteworthy? They haven't been able to run the football or protect the passer in years.

I am very opposed to bringing in an OL coach who is known more for his recruiting than ability to teach OL.

Why some of you all are so obsessed with Miami guys/recuiters is beyond me.

A lot of that was largely due to Scott Loeffler being VT's OC.

I'm only vouching for Searels because there's rumors out there he could be headed to one of these SEC West programs.

In the eyes of some in the industry, he brings a lot of value.

Didn't he leave as o line/ assistant head coach here to coach o line at bama? If so, he's not coming back here to coach o line. His next stop is offensive coordinator for a mediocre school.

I want a dude the caliber of Trickett at FSU. No more recruiters, though in Kehoes case he's neither

A great play caller/OC can mask deficiencies in an online. Cadence, formations, playcalls, etc.....

The same can't be done for dline because they don't have the luxury of having the ball or knowing what's coming. It takes a true technician to coach a Dline and its much more important than the Oline coach.

Bamas oline is a big part of their success. He's not that bad of an oline coach

I disagree. It's clearly important. But nowhere near as important as dline

The Oline is probably THE most important unit. Allows you to control the game, flexible offense and rest the D. Crappy oline and even the best Dline can get abused. This is what happened in the OB against Nebraska.

These dopes keep trumpeting the same stuff about Mario but Bamas line under him has been **** good.

Even after the head coaching position has been filled by a great coach, it's crazy

Brock gonna brock; still swallowing Mario's nuts.

These are the same guys who think Beard is a great WR coach and that the WRs are "doing better". I think the clinical term for their condition is "idiot".

You're another one of those "if an SEC team is doing it then we need to be doing it too" guys.

What The f_ck are you talking about? I was completely against Miami hiring Mario as the head coach?

Why would he come here? Wasn't even considered seriously for the HC job he wanted. The fans flew a banner bashing him, it would most definitely be for less money, and I believe he's associate head coach there (could be wrong). Point is there is literally no way he would come here imo

Curious to know if anyone has read on what kind of O line scheme CMR prefers, zone, gap or man. I've read articles that talk about his preference for big backs, a power running game, and crossing/combo routes in passing. However, I haven't seen anything about his preferred blocking scheme.
