Ok, what I saw....

What exactly is the difference in playing FIU, Savannah St or BCC? They are expected blowouts. It is just a matter of by how much. Every top team in College plays 2 of these games a year.

Perry reacts in the atmosphere? We’re -10. Chances are we won’t be seeing Perry.

I am fine with it --- one year works

Also wanted to note - again, Jeffrey 'the Jet' Thomas is special. If you ever get him a decent QB and he can be Santana Moss part two. Richt needs to be as creative as can be in getting him the ball if he's going to stick with a scatter arm QB.

Richt and creative do not belong in the same sentence.

Yeah, I haven't like him on returns, but I think we saw what he can do if given a little space. Find a way to get him the ball without defenders draped on him and see what he can do.

That said, jeezus are we really discussing anything other than the OL? Rosier is no bueno, but the OL is the absolute worst part of this team. If we can't run against SSU then it doesn't really matter who the QB is we won't be able to beat decent teams. I feel like Clemson could rush 2 and still get a few sacks against us. And I get the complaining about Homer, but if the OL would do their **** job he'd look a whole lot better.

Cant disagree, this unit stifles the whole offense and while Homer may not have great vision or wiggle, it's not like he had a lot of creases to run through(and that's what he's best at - exploding through the hole). But lets get some of the younger lineman in there who have a much higher ceiling than some of the upperclassmen

And Im for any move that kicks Donaldson back inside the guard where he belongs

Donaldson to RG, Scalife to RT.

i agree with this move. Donaldson is not a tackle imo.

i dont get how people can be all over Searles. this guy inherited a soft bunch of losers. St Louis and gauthier are the only quality he has.
even last year Darling was a mess and KC missed on a momentum changing block in the orange bowl.

He might do well there, plays good on the edge and has really long arms and pretty good technique. Blocked some of the elite edge rushers very well in the country at the opening too. I think He can be an isaih Wynn and our for Miami that uga recently had and was recruited by coach richt
Doesn’t hurt having a smart player like Donaldson playing next to you as well to help you out

I give Searles credit for having to fix the worst unit on the team when he arrived. Recruiting has improved, some, although the OL is still average or below. He gets blamed for that. The starters couldn’t line up a dominate SSU.

Donaldson is a OG. A road-grader. I saw SSU’s DE run right by Donaldson on more than one occasion. Experiment over.

Instead of promoting a GA to LB coach the 10th coach could or should have been a second OL coach. Richt had two OL coaches at UGA some seasons.

Do you trust Scaife at tackle so early?

Wel, that’s on coaches - he should be rotating in often but it’s been sparingly.

These kids have talent and won’t grt the experience they need unless they actually play.

Savannah State is dropping to DII next year. UM needs to end the scheduling schools like Savannah State, BCC and FAMU. They add no value to the players or the game day revenue.

I disagree. I think these cupcake games definitely serve a purpose, particularly early in the season. It allows the younger players to get to play in game like conditions against other competition. These glorified scrimmages are much better than the 1's & 2's going at it during spring and fall camps.

Talking about Sav St, they actually won 3 games last year. That means they are better than 3 teams out there lol. Scary thought

k9,
I had been on-board with your assessment that the starter of the UNC game will tell the tale. However after week two, I have to think that FIU will be a much tougher matchup than UNC, who looks depleted of athletic talent.

Of note: UNC got run off the field (41-19) by East Carolina, who lost to North Carolina A&T the previous week.
